No I understood him, I think you guys misunderstood my original post. With the new clean dark theme for froyo, the standard messaging app on the droid has been themed black for the theme. I would like this black, themed, messaging app on my dock (leading to handcent, not the messaging app), not the grey messaging icon that comes with launcher proDidn't work. I can choose the launcher pro icon (white faded), the normal handcent blue icon, or one from my gallery.
I want the themed messaging icon to open to handcent like browser can open to xscope by setting it to default
I think you are misunderstanding him...
On you "home bar" long press the icon
It should then prompt "Select Shortcut"
Select Applications -> Then scroll to "Handcent SMS" and select
It should then prompt "Choose Icon"
Select "LauncherPro icons" -> Scroll to messaging icon and select
I have the "default" messaging icon on my home bar and it opens handcent
to change the system defaults to where it asks you which you want you have to clear the settings in "Menu Button" -> "Settings" -> "Applications" -> "Messaging" then it should ask you but that still wont change it from opening up "Messaging" if you have the Messaging application shortcut in your home bar directly selecting it will override the system default settings just like xscope if you want to you can still open the built-in browser
LOLz I think I understand what he's saying, He wants to use the "Clean Black themed Messaging Icon" for handcent. Icons are basically just img files. You can try and open up the app on your computer to extract the icon image and just use that to change the handcent icon via launcher Pro. Or you can message bgill55 to see if he can just give you the image for the icon.
BTW. I think your misunderstanding how it the whole app linking thing works. It doesn't work that way for apps, you can't link one app to another one. App linking only works when a dev codes a shortcut to execute a "default app". For instance in Launcher Pro the messaging shortcut is set to bring up the "default messaging app". You can't do that with the themed "clean black" messaging app because it's not a shortcut that calls up the "default messaging app," it's the app "itself". So it's coded to execute itself. Get it? lol
