Leaked FRG22 Update Available for Rooted Droid 1

The Wifi stinks for me in this build, as it does with most of the other leaked builds made by Motorola. There's a weak hotspot available where I work, and in this build, my wifi constantly disconnects and reconnects. However, when using Cyanogenmod RC2, which is built from source and is not based on any of the Moto builds, the wifi holds a steady connection. Why is it that developers compiling builds in their spare time produce a better product than Motorola themselves? Very disappointing. Back to CM I go.

Well I didn't like FRG22, seemed real buggy and jittery compared to other roms i used. I even tried multiple Kernels with no luck of fixing it. So now I'm back to BB .4, I should never of left, but hey at least now I know.

Jittery and buggy? Describe, because I don't see that.

well going through screens, seemed to stop for a brief moment (less than a sec) but, not as smooth as other roms. Scrolling through apps, some time it would just stop and i would have to wait then scroll.

I was thinking it was the Kernels (got boot looped if I went over 1, stayed at .8). I'm sure others are having better luck or just a better configuration.

I'm still a noob to rooting, but learning more everyday.

The one thing that I've noticed is that I seem to be having an occasional typing issue. All of a sudden when I'm typing it will kind of lock up. It's weird.

Screen changes, I've seen times when it's a bit slow to bring up my home screen but nothing that bad where it irritates me.

I had that with the previous Froyo Rom, but this FR22 is running smooth for me. Did you have to wipe data? I did, I wonder if there is something in there that's causing you issues.

I just rooted for the first time last night and it's pretty amazing^^ FINALLY got flash to work, somewhat, and it was decent. Only issues I faced were overheating when web surfing, downloading the flash apk, and constant wifi disconnect issues. I think I may go to BB and see how that plays out because seriously, I'm in dire need of wifi, haha. But for being a straight ROM and not having been tweaked, FRG22 is AMAZING. Thanks for the upload^^

Where can I get the file? The ones on droidlife says not found..

I picked it up over at AndroidForums. My first manual update of any nature and FGR01B works like a charm.

I've had the Droid since the day after Thanksgiving and have run stock the entire time. Will more than likely remain stock with FroYo 2.2, and wait on the OTA release of FGR22. I really wanted the 5 home screens and to see how much faster this baby would operate.

Ran Quadrant yesterday afternoon before the manual update and the Droid came in at 386. Last night after the update the Droid scored 831...................woohooooo. dancedroid dancedroid dancedroid Definitely worth the manual update IMHO.

I wasn't sure where to put this, but thought someone here could help me?

Ever since I manually upgraded to 2.2 from 2.1 I've notice the color of my texting has changed.

What used to be a black background with white text is now the opposite! It's a white page with black text. It seems to be the only section of my phone that is like this.

I've looked all over and can't see a way of changing it back. Can someone help me?

Thanks in advance!

You mean it's not at the in the settings? I'm running CyanogenMod 6 RC-2 and where I found it was:

Messaging app>menu soft button>settings>scroll all the way to the bottom>click the checkbox>close Messaging app>open messaging app>viola!
