Liberty 3 RC 1.1?

Hey guys,

I'm currently on CM 7.1 on my Droid X, and would LOVE to move back to liberty again. Am I able to switch over to Liberty 3 without doing an SBF?

Liberty is still based on the blur framework - so you'd want to start clean from .602 sbf

I wouldn't see why not as long as you are running .602 as a base. But Koveleski knows more than I do.

Get on .602 or .605. Use the sbf links in my signature. I prefer the Linux CD. After that, you can install the .602 All In One zip from ROM Toolbox. Make sure you wipe data/cache/dalvik. Then go to mounts and storage and format system. Then mount system. Then flash the all in one zip. After that, you can install Liberty 3.

I have been running it for a day and I must say, its very nice. Stable and has just enough Blur so that everything works, but AOSP for speed and looks. Its definitely a great upgrade over V.9

Thanks for the link to the SBF. I imaged a thumb drive with it and then booted from it. Very easy SBF. It was crazy seeing froyo again. Brought me back!

im sure im a little late for this reply, but the problems i had with installing this rom were obvious mistakes that a little of research fixed... first was getting the black screen after trying to boot to clockworkmod recovery; fixed by turning off usb debugging. second was by not having the correct rom; i might have downloaded one for the bionic or something but the version that worked for me is the one that was hosted on droidmodderx's website. hope this helps anybody having the same problems!

Well, my first failed ROM install.

I decided to try the Rom Toolbox method to get to .340 before installing .602 and finally Liberty 3.
1) downloaded the .340 file using wifi
2) downloaded the .602 file using wifi
3) formatted system in CW Recovery
4) mounted system
5) installed the zip

It appeared to be going well until the 'updating RADIO' line, then this error:

assert failed: motorola.update.cdma_bp("/tmp/rdl.bin". "/tmp/bp.img")
E:Error in /sdcard/romtoolbox/downloads/OTA/340-Odexed-AIO.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.

Help!!! Now what?

Downloaded and installed Liberty 3 from 2.0 and now it's in a boot loop only showing the Liberty name repeatedly. Any help?

I have heard of issues with the radio file using the 2.3.340 file since its overwriting the .13 baseband. It shouldn't stop the installation though...

Ok, I SBF'd back to stock 340 using RSDLite. Back to square 1.

Should I be able to install the .602/.605 zip from CWR now? Link to .605?

Why didn't you just SBF to .602 ? Then you could've just rooted, boostrapped and flashed the Liberty zip.

Yes, just format system and mount it. Then flash the All in one zip. Then you can flash Liberty. As far as I know, the .605 AIO file is only in the TBH app. Thats where I got mine.

Dave, I don't use .602 SBF because I have a 2.3.340 Linux CD and the .605 AlO zip.

LOL! The phone updated to .605 OTA. Let me guess, I shouldn't have allowed the phone to update. Will that be ok to get to Liberty 3?

I literally haven't touched this phone since .9, so had to learn "the rules" all over again.

Grab a copy of the .602 sbf and get your phone onto that as a starting point.
SO ... STARTING WITH LIBERTY V0.9 ISN'T AN OPTION? I thought that was the point of using the Toolbox ... being able to update over the air without have to flash back to ground zero ... NO?
