Liberty on D2G (or any D2 Roms) - Is it possible?!?

I'll love it when Fission gets an update (and it seems like it will soon), but in the meantime, I'm attempting to port Cyanogenmod (froyo-stable) to the D2G. No idea if I'll get anywhere, but so far it hasn't given me trouble yet. Just finished my initial config and started the build not too long ago. Perhaps if this goes well I can talk to the Liberty devs and try to get in on their action :P

EDIT: Just to be clear, I'm not planning for a whole lot of success, don't get any hopes up until there's proof.

if you actually do this and release it not only will i donate but i will indeed take off my clothes for you....

NAHMEAN?

Still stuck building everything with proprietary files. Pentium D isn't helping. Going to look into cyanogen4milestone project to see how they circumvented the bootloader.

I've been out for a few days...

I've talked to the Liberty Dev's and may actually be able to make a little more headway on this.

On a side note, I've got a semi functional AOSP lockscreen (rather than a skinned to look like AOSP, moto blur lockscreen). One might ask...If they look the same whats the point? The fission lockscreen does not play nice with Liberty lockscreen settings (Rotary), the AOSP version plays much nicer, but not yet 100%.

Unfortunately, while I figured a lot out...none of it is yet 100%, so the wait continues.

Thanks for all those who are interested, and to those who are trying to port other ROMS, if I can be of assistance, let me know.

buryboi: are you compiling that or editing? If compiling, I'd love to compare your device/vendor files to mine :)

@bikedude, not compiling, just editing.

To all:

I'll apologize in advance for including all these boring log outputs. My hope is that somebody will see what is going on, and be able to point me in the right direction.

Ive got a couple logcats here, One with the sensors disable, and the other with them enabled. Want to see if anybody can make sense of the crash.

With the sensors enabled, you press the power button, to dim the screen and sleep the phone and this is the output...

The phone receives the call to sleep, it sleeps (presumably normally), and receives the call to wake.

Any ideas what is causing the crash?

Just got my build compiled and signed, but can't flash yet due to an incorrect build.prop. Will look into it later tonight.

Sent from my White DROID 2 GLOBAL.

Lemme start by saying I'm not a developer... I came across an app on the d2/dx sites that could convert any dx rom to a d2 just by running this .zip file after installing the new rom. Could someone more intelligent than I figure out a way to adapt this to our phones/platforms?
Gjartodxport is the name of the zip file...

That would basically be a patch update.zip that would overwrite the wrong D2 files the proper keyboard and lib files. Might be doable...

Just seemed like an easier option than rewriting the entire rom... especially since it was 90% functional...

only prob with that is, the d2 and dx are so similar that the phone will at least boot so you could run the exe... try putting a d2 or x rom on your phone and i doubt it will boot...
