Marketplace Issue/Update Apps

My girlfriend's X (different from my ex-girlfriend) only showed 4 apps in the market. I cleared the system cache partition and the market data. I went to the "My Apps" section and it only had 4 apps but then all of a sudden the others popped in. I had to reset my Market preferences as clearing Market data resets settings.

Anyway, the problem happened again and the previous solution didn't work so I:
-killed the market app to stop it from running
-cleared the market app data & cache
-uninstalled the market update
-cleared the system cache partition

And the apps came back...so basically a shotgun approach/trying every trick in the book.

As for apps needing an update even though they've just been updated, that's not just a problem on the X. I've seen it on the Droid and Droid 3. New market app needs work.

How do I clear the system cache partition on the droid X? Nevermind, I found it. Should have remembered this from when I had a rooted droid x before gingerbread. oh well. thanks again and will let you know if this fixes my marketplace issue.

If you are using Market 3.0.27, you might want to manually update to Market 3.1.3.

I do have market 3.0.2.7 so how do i manually update market to higher?

If you Google "Market 3.1.3", you will find a number of Android forums that carry this .apk file.
I suspect this version will become available to our phones as a regular Market update, but no telling when...
I'm quite happy with it.

How does one delete the system cache?? I have tried everything but that to get my apps back (Market v 3.1.5) and still no luck!!

Awesome thanks for the info!!!!

All apps are back in the market, not sure what I did in the end but oh well!

I decided to check for updates again on my girlfriend's X. It only lists 4 downloaded apps when there should be many more. This time I didn't have to wipe the cache partition. Instead I force-closed the market, uninstalled the market updates, and cleared the market data or cache (all from phone settings > applications). Then I rebooted. The old market version came up with all of the apps and I was able to update them. In conclusion, I'm not sure how necessary clearing the partition is. It certainly doesn't hurt anything, though.

One more note, you'll need to reset the market settings (market > menu > settings > admob preferences, etc.) if you clear market data/cache.

And I am a bit bummed that the new market version has not fixed this problem. Oh well. I wonder if a factory reset would fix this. I bet it would.

There may be another workaround as described here: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...s/174370-market-issues-605-a.html#post1765988

Perhaps this problem has to do with the market using an alternate google account than your main one.

To everyone having this problem: do you have more than one google account set up on your phone?

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a permanent fix yet. However, if it does have something to do with having multiple google accounts, maybe a solution would involve deleting all but one account from the phone and going to the market then re-adding the other accounts. I may try this out later.

I had the same problem, then did a bunch of random clear cach / reboot / force quit / uninstall updates. etc., etc., in everyone combination and the apps eventually all showed up. I wasn't getting switched to my other accounts because I could still see my purchased apps.

Worked for about 2 days then all of sudden today gone again!!

So I removed all other gmail accounts just to see, cleared cache / uninstalled update / reboot, and they are back again but, who knows for how long!!!
