Mine showed up about the time I got home from work.
I agree, nice box.
The propriety plug fits my phone, Gear S charger, Note8, etc so that potential bug won't be. Instructions are easy to understand and include pictures (!!!) and the print size is big enough where I could read the manual without my readers but the paper version and ones in the Notifier app are exactly the same. Speaking of app, it's a no brainer to set up and use. When connected it shows a graph in the notification bar of the phone of battery and when you pull it down it shows the percentage in numbers. If you don't want that just go to phone settings, applications, scroll down to Martian Notifier and uncheck notifications there. My Jabra Motion earpiece has an app that works the same way so I'm used to it.
I already had the app and it setup so connection was a snap and I sent myself a sample text (Textra) and Gmail and both worked well, the vibrate set on max was noticeable and about the same as my Gear S. I might miss it if I'm busily distracted but no biggie. Notifications took almost no time to forward to the watch. Test alarm was same results.
I was pleasantly surprised that I can actually easily read the notifications display. I really didn't think with my vision I'd see it well, especially outside. It was hazy sunshine and in the sun. They did a nice job with the black being super black and the white being very intense with large/bold fonts.
The watch feels comfortable. Very comfortable. Maybe I'm just used to the girth of my S but if all watches were this comfortable I might have not stopped wearing regular watches years ago. The silicone band doesn't feel plasticy or the least bit stiff. Maybe in time I'll try another band but probably not. I like sport type bands vs leather or metal and the oem one has 2 overlap holders vs 1, or none, on a lot of bands. That'll help it stay more secure .
I updated the firmware after testing things out and it took less time to update than the time it takes my desktop to boot up from a shut down.
My only rub would be wondering what the "light" is supposed to be. The LED turns white when you turn on the light but doesn't light up the watch part and is far too dim to be useful as a mini flashlight. Seems like just a battery waster to me but I might just be missing something.
Here's a few photos of what I mean.
Hope that helps
Here's a side by side with the Gear S to get a size comparison
