MattyP's .215 Leak Classroom

The lap dock not working is when using the RAZR Utility to flash to stock because Matt manually removed the files for it.

However using the official fast boot file and RSD lite directly should keep your system stock including lap dock.

The reason why I ask Tis is cuz there is a note in the Utility that says RSD Lte can not flash webtop in the partition or something like that..

Hmmmm. that question has not come up until now, but as Tis said, if it doesn't work on your lapdock there is a way to go back to .211 ... just in case.

But as Tis also said, I can't give any guarantees it will work or not. :)

Sydman, for the win ... again. :hail:

Yes it does ... that is the numbering system, when "upgrading" the number of the file will always be the version you are coming FROM, not going to. For example, when the next upgrade comes out after .215, let's say if it's .216, the file number will actually be .215.

Confusing, I know, but that's just the way they do it LOL :)

I'm on 215 and so if I use option 2 of the utility to root, it should be fine. It is only when I want to flash back to stock where it may not work? Sorry for all the questions, but I appreciate all the help, Tis, Matty, and Sydman! You guys r awesome!

Yes, start with option 2. Make sure you use the stock moto USB cable, that you install the latest moto drivers on your PC, that you have USB debugging enabled and that you USB connect as a media device or camera (not mass storage).

Do you plan to install custom roms? If so install safestrap instead of bootstrap. If not, then install bootstrap.

These are the steps I followed when I rooted, post #89

Tis using the term "guys" as a general term..I know you are one fine woman..;)

Lmao! I use it also to refer to everyone. When I was teaching in Austin Tx, one of my students said to all her buddies, "bye you guys" as she was leaving with her parents. Her parents looked at me with a smile and a joking glare knowing that expression came from me. That was before I got the "y'all" down right.

Definitely want to mess around with custom ROMs! Lived it and Loved to mess around with them on my OG..although my OG probably hated it cuz I was never fully "committed" to one ROM..I loved that I was able to play the field..LOL

That's awesum! You knew for sure then that your students were paying attention to you..:). Thanks again for all your help..gonna try all this after i grab lunch..will report back...definitely for sure if I have problems..lol.

Yeah, nothing greater than having your students emulate you (as long as you're worth emulating), lol!

Enjoy lunch and hope to hear it all worked like a charm. Will definitely check back in to make sure.

OK, I'm rooted, but installed bootstrap instead of safestrap...Do I uninstall bootstrap..if so how? Also, which ROM are you running?

Note: Followed the post when MattyP rooted msjen..brought back memories...I remembered that night cuz I honestly thought I was reading a book waiting to see what happens next..had a great mixture of drama, suspense and adult content/situations ("Quit pulling my hair" was classic..)
