MattyP's .215 Leak Classroom

This has been discussed several times in this thread. no one knows for sure. Some have theorized that you would not have to go back, but we elk only know for sure when the ota comes out. Also on that topic, an FDR will not put you back to .211. It can be done however, i don't remember how. I'm sure matty can chime in if we need to go back

There is a factory fastboot file available that will get you back on OTA .211 that would put you back on the upgrade path if .214/.215 broke that path.

You don't have to root to install the .215 update ... that's only an option. If you have concerns about the .215 update just speak up and I will be more than happy to help and or answer questions. There's nothing to be skeered of :)

I'm in the same boat as everyone else, no one knows for sure. We won't know until the next OTA comes out. :icon_eek:

The .215 leak has improvements in battery life, connectivity, it makes your phone much snappier and quicker, almost everyone who has installed it has noticed overall improvements.

Most people who installed it for the battery improvements, I installed it on my Razr Maxx and had great battery life, but the battery in the Maxx is much bigger than the Razr battery. But it does improve on both :)

Thx, Matty. Wouldmit void Warranty? Can I walk it back-uninstallable if does nothing for my droid razr?

No, it's software, it's not altering your phone to make it perform outside the limits of your agreement. Rooting supposedly voids the warranty, but upgrading the software does not. It's still "official" software, it's just been "leaked" ... kinda sorta like getting tomorrow's newspaper today. It's not something that someone came up with while poogling, it's still "official" ... it just wasn't officially "released" :)

Again, thx! Can u recommend which site/URL or instruction is the safest, and preferred, tried and true. I will give it a try. But, can I go backwards if I have a problem. Thx!

I'd like to make sure dl a safe upgrade and was asking if uncan recommend a safe site from which to obtain .215...I am new to this sort of phone stuff.

The link in the first post is to my personal Dropbox. If you download it to your computer you will have to transfer it to your SD Card on your phone. If you download it to your phone you will have to move it to your SD Card from your "Download" folder. It's 100% safe ... as I said there's nothing to be skeered of :)
