Just wondering if it is possible to add in to have the notification light blink while it's charging and go out or solid green or something when fully charged. I do have an app that does that, but built-in would be one less icon in my status bar / one less program running in memory.
I also second having different lockscreens available (I think I saw that somewhere here...)

So in regard to the whole MavRom ICS talk that has been going on figured I post this here for people interested. Its Hash codes post on why chances are ICS will never be fully functional on the D3. Droid 3.. to be or not to be (ICS’d). « Hash-of-Codes

So looks like everyone better look for alternative ways of getting ICS features.

"bricked to .890" Do you mean you SBF'd? If so what did you use to do it?


Btw, when on .906 Motofail for the D4 will root your D3.

Glad you said something so I don't feel as confused as to what he did.


Did you have previous safestrap back ups? Mine had problems with them so I deleted the safestrap dir and started fresh and new.

If you mean how'd he go from .906 back to .890 they released a working SBF last week on XDA.

yes exctly what i did for bricking back to .890

I used safestrap 1.08 back when I flashed it, no problems here...


Silly question, were you rooted before installing safestrap? Is it even possible to install safestrap without root?

Thanks so much for sharing that! I had stopped checking Hash's blog since he started devoting so much time to the Kindle Fire. It is a sad day for sure, but the ride has been awesome, and every moto device using safestrap has our d3 (and Hash obviously) to thank for it! Safestrap is really the silver lining in all of this locked bootloader nonsense... I will never go back to single boot recovery again.

Be aware that the latest version (1.08f) does not support the external sd card so MAKE SURE you move whatever roms you want to flash to the internal. Version 1.08e was the most recent fully functional version, but I can't find a link to that download. Versions 1.08d and 1.08c are in the thread to play around with. The developer has been missing in action for a month or two now fyi.

For what it's worth lite flow led has these options (and many, many more) and doesn't require an icon in the status bar... Not to shabby on resources either. Check it out here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow&hl=en

There is a free version as well that supports individual unique settings for most basic apps. Once you try it though you will see it is worth the 1.99. Absolutely a must have root app.

I'd rather not have this. I charge my phone next to my bed and don't want to light to be on.. why would you even need it? You know it's charging because you put the cable in:icon_ lala:

i was on official update .906 ... to root the phone and install safe strap i bricked to .890 and then i followed rom installation

Ok, so I'm still curious as to why you SBF'd back to .890 from .906 but let's see if we can get you up and running.

Pull the battery, wait a few seconds, then put it back in and turn it on. Do you get the Moto Dual Core logo? If so, is it followed by the Safestrap splash screen?

If you get neither, you will most likely want to try SBFing (or Fastboot) again. If you get to Safestrap, go into recovery and flash the ROM again. Make sure to wipe cache/factory reset/wipe dalvik cache before flashing. I'd recommend formatting system as well, since you're having issues.

Let us know what's up and we'll see what we can do.

p.s. it's called SBFing, not bricking. :biggrin:

That's an awful small light to be bothering you ;-) besides you could just turn the phone glass down.

And as far as charging, the port on my phone is touchy, so even when its plugged in, its not necessarily connected or charging. I just use the charging animation to know when it is.

what if after i put 906, and MAVROM, i wipe data and i get still mavrom and no stock moto rom?
how do i return to 906? i just SBF back to 890 and use the OTA update?

Yes i tried to root on .906 update .... but no nuts was failing and then i decided to SBF to .890.

and also phone shows moto logo ... goes till recovery option ... and after nothing ... just black screen ... lol i waited for 1+ hour by leaving phone a side no work... can i try boot strap recovery ?? i had installed safe-strap

Safe mode is for roms Nonsafe mode is for official rooted firmware

I've never had it not connecting properly. Also, I cannot put it glass down, as sometimes it will instantly snooze my alarm because something is touching the screen Anyway, any update on flashlight toggle, sound/silent/vibrate toggle or mavrom 4.5?
