Messed up unroot process..HELP PLEASE

Alright guys, my phone was on rooted 2.2 and it was giving me all kinds of hardware issues so i intended on replacing it today at VZW, but to do so i had to go back to stock. I followed the method on this site of downloading a 2.1 file and naming it update.zip, use SPrecovery to install it and got stuck in error message. so i decided to try a nandroid backup, (rebooting with "x") but instead i get an exclamation point on my screen...someone please help me! it would be so greatly appreciated.

To go back to stock do option 5: SBF to root and to unroot
