MLB.com At Bat 2010 in the Market

Like I said at the top I dont want to sound like a commercial and I sure don't want to be the deciding factor in someone wasting money. There are a couple of 5 star comments, and there are alot that talk about cutting out. I have not had a problem and that obviously doesnt mean that your will not cut out. Its not a suprise that although most of us have 3g coverage, they are not all equal. As you could see from the speed test thread, the speeds are all over the place. I hope that MLB and verizon iron out the rest of the details so that people who are not in a great 3g spot can still listen to thier team! And like I said maybe its just us O's fans who are easly amused ;p

Same is true of us Mariner fans. :) And I'll note again that my good luck with the app I'm sure has to do with the fact that I usually have my phone running WiFi sitting six inches or so away from my router which in turn approaches T1 connection speeds.

Haven't seen as many complaints on these boards of late, has the audio cutting out stopped or are there still a lot of issues?

I have used the last 2 days and the audio was cutting out every few min. It's annoying but I still love the app.

And for those complaining about bad teams. I'm a Cubs fan. Not that the Cubs are bad they just have a really hard time in the playoffs.

I hope its just because it's ST....BUT...I noticed only a few games thus far have had the batter/pitch location screen up and going. Is this just for Spring Training?

I too am having all the audio problems that have been discussed in this thread and I hope to god they resolve them by opening day (which by the way is only a week away!). I ditched my XM last fall when I got a droid in hopes of this app coming through for me. It's been a bit better as of late but it still is nowhere near as good as the one i had installed on my iTouch last summer which is soooooooooo frustrating.

I was thinking about getting this app because i work out of town a lot. I saw the comments regarding dropped and cutting out. i guess i will just get it one day when im out of town and am fiending for some Angel baseball. i made sure to be in town for All-Star weekend.

Opening day is April 4th... can I get somebody to test and see if the feed drops constantly like it does in Spring Training before I buy it? I lose my job and want to know if this is a safe investment; this can consume my time and save me money in the long run.

I don't think they set up PitchFX down in the ST parks. I'll be inputting the Gameday data for the Nats-Red Sox game in DC on Saturday, so there should be info coming through for that one.

I cannot resist the ability to hear my O's while living no where near any radio broadcast.

You should consider giving this app a try: RadioTime v1.0 Application for Android | Multimedia

You can listen to radio stations streamed from almost any city. Just select what city you want and it will show you all of the stations that play in that city, then you can save it to your favorites and access it anytime you want.

It's an AMAZING app.

I'm a big fan of RadioTime but no one should be under the illusion that it will enable them to listen to MLB games. Virtually all radio streaming of MLB games over the net is now shut down.

Stole my thunder, i believe that is correct. I cant speak for all markets but I tried to "beat the system" last year and listen to the O's on wbal.com and it was either silence, some repeat of a show, or espn radio. Can't speak for all markets but thats what i've found.

Here's one thing I can say for a fact from my experience with MLB products -- it will get better. The connections will be more stable, if live streaming video is possible on Android, eventually you will get streaming video of games. MLB has always improved their products, added more features.

This isn't like a third-party developer that will update as long as they feel like working on it, or until they reach the limits of their ability, and then just abandon the product -- this will get tweaked and improved until it's nearly perfect. Maybe it won't happen on your schedule, and being the first season on Android like it is, you'll certainly be dealing with some bugs, but the fact is that at the very least you can follow MLB games on your Droid this season, and that's awesome.

Really? I listen to sports talk for my home town which is across the country and I know they play local games on that channel though I'm not a fan of listening to games over the radio so I never stuck around for any of the broadcast. Kind of lame that they can tell if you're listening to it over the 'net and block it off. I assumed that it was the exact same feed that the listeners were getting locally.
