Mobile Hotspot apps

Stupid question, but I did a search and couldn't find an answer that was clear.

Is there an app for free mobile hotspot? I know there are free tethering apps but none of them seem to mention wireless, they only mention plugging the device to the phone via USB. If there are any mobile hotspot apps, do any of them work on phones that haven't been rooted?

Thanks.

Pda net does it through blue tooth also from what I know.

Other than that I don't think so. I use wireless tether which is for rooted devices

Thanks, guys. Second question--which apps do provide a mobile hotspot once I root. Like I mentioned before, a lot of the apps only mention tethering through USB. So once I root, I want to make sure I get an app that will provide a mobile hotspot, just like the stock app.

Its called wireless tether for root users and is no longer available on the market for most devices. However I'm sure you can find it with a google search.
