Moto strikes again

So I'm over reading the 'official' Moto Bionic forum. Somebody is mentioning typical Bionic problems and it was suggested that he take his (stock) phone into Verizon and have them reflash the phone. One of the mods chimes in that discussion of flashing and modding is verbotten. WTF? Are they actively trying to run customer satisfaction into the ground? Is a MotoMobile bankruptcy in the crystal ball or something? Clearing the boards for a reboot? Or has the housecleaning just not filtered down far enough?

The official moto site is a joke for anything. They have a locked thread to put in new info and it has never been updated. It's a useless sight accept to sign up for soak tests.

I remember seeing a thread where someone asked how to resize a picture to use it as a wallpaper. The mod's answer was to take a picture of the picture . I asked the mod if that was Moto's official answer/fix to the problem . He never got back to me ?

Unfortunately, the Motorola forum has not evolved well with the rest of the industry. I keep hoping the acquisition by Google would have a positive impact, but not so far. It's a shame as I believe this is endemic of the this particular forum and not Motorola overall. And you wonder why others have and continue to grow market share!

yeah that site is completely useless right now. At one point Matt from Moto posted a lot early on in the Bionic days but since they re-did their site he has gone away and a couple of "mods" who know nothing sit there and tell users to boot into safe mode to fix stuff. None of them know anything. It was the same with the Xoom. Here the Wifi Xoom has JB and us Verizon LTE Xoom owners are still on ICS. Blame Verizon? maybe.

Motorola has the classic problem of the higher you are the less you can really say. If Motorola were to really come "clean" on everything there is a chance that VZW would drop them like a hot potato. This ultimately would not serve the company.

This forum is independent - we/them can say whatever we please about Motorola, Verizon and so on w/out any repercussion since this forum only represents us, the users, and not VZW or Motorola.

Having said that, Motorola could really do more to communicate with people. The Moto Xperts, most of them, are people just like us, and sadly only know as much as we do and less. They are unpaid volunteers. Matt is the only one who has any kind of "inside" knowledge but he doesn't say much and likely isn't allowed to.
