Motorola Droid Case Reviews

I've been looking for a wallet style case (like the ones for the iphone) but haven't been able to find one. If no one makes one of those I will probably get the body glove.

Heya...

Actually I'm gonna point you to the direction to the case where I bought for my HTC Leo...

This is the version for the Droid which I don't have:
PDair Leather Case for Motorola Droid - Flip Type (Red) by PDair - PDair.com

But I do have this just FYI (only paid $28 for it, and shipping included)

Awesome! That is exactly what I was looking for.

I was looking at the pictures for the droid case and didn't notice any card slots so I emailed them and they said that there were not any.

I did find this one, which I don't like just putting it out there for anyone else.

It looks like no one makes one for the droid so I think I'm gonna get the one you recommended, password_droid. Maybe when they come out with a card case I'll get it and give this one to my wife or I'll try to get creative and stitch some card slots in it.

PDAir / Monaco aluminum case

Are the Aluminum cases (PDair / Monaco) easier to hold onto than a naked Droid? I find that the surface of the Droid is not very grippy, and combined with the weight I'm always afraid it will slip out of my hand. I have the Body Glove hard case, its been great except its so bulky.

It actually gives it quite a big of a better grip, i mean i dun have one for the droid, but i did used to have one for my samsung omnia i900, which i gave to my little cousin when i upgraded it to something else.

And it didnt used to have the open screen design like they do now:
PDair Aluminum Metal Case for Motorola Milestone A855 - Open Screen Design (Black) by PDair - PDair.com

or perhaps it's only for phones with a slide out qwerty, not 100% sure.

nowadays im more into leather...:icon_ banana:

Not gonna touch BG for grip unless u get something rubberized.Protection won't be as good either. BG is bulky, but its worth getting used to imo.

Ebay Cases

Hi - I am not sure if these cases have been reported yet - I didn't look through all 55 pages - these both have velcro closing.

Item 200427015420 -- Phone slips in and out the easiest of the two - Will work with earphone cable attached (phone just does not slide all the way down into the case)

Item 190361240452 -- Case looks like it is too small for the phone to fit into - but it does - just snugly. Cover flap will not reach the velcro spot with earphones plugged into the phone

Not sure which one I will like the best - time will tell

Yeah I know, the Body Glove offers great protection. But I got the insurance for protection! Also, I took it out of the case the other day, was surprised how small the phone was. So I thought I'd try something thinner, if I can find something that is at least a little grippy. I do like how I can put the phone down anywhere in the Body Glove case and it stays put, when I set it down without the case, it slides all over! Of course, I rarely put it down except when I'm charging it. I'm all over the map, still trying to decide what to do.

Clunker,

I agree with you on the BG. My prob with it though I discoverd that the thin piece on the front, the left side has made tiny blemishes on the phone. I am pissed that it did that cause the whole point of a case is to protect. I go through phones like crazy )not that I would ever part from my DROID...until DROID 2 comes out) and now the case had made scratches, and is no longer "like new". So I decided to buy the Seidio case cause I too like how thin the phone feels.

OK, and I just ordered a Monaco Aluminum one, I had a few ebay bucks on tap, got it for less than $17. I couldn't tell from the Seidio site whether the Innocase Surface cases have a belt clip, which is an important feature for me. I'll post some feedback when I get the case.

I just finished reading nearly all 50 pages, searching online, and am down to the Sena Kutu and the suede pouch one (name escapes me). I realize they are on opposite ends of the price spectrum but, after suffering with the Body Glove case for 6 weeks, I am ready for something lighter and sleeker.

Is anyone using a pouch with the Zagg skins, too? Thanks.

p.s. - I am so glad I joined this forum today!

If you're interested in the suede pouch from Waterfield and are planning to use a case for your Droid (including those from Seidio or from others), I strongly recommend that you contact Waterfield and ask them to make a custom pouch that is a couple of millimeters larger all the way around. They do provide this service. Not sure what the charge, if any, is.

I like Waterfield products very much and the pouch is stylish. However, it simply cannot be used with a protective plastic case. Although the claim is that the jacket will "stretch," my experience is that it won't stretch enough to make it conveniently usable.

I found the perfect case at Best Buy, but I had to remove the backside of the body glove case, for it it fit correctly and also to fit the car mount. So everythings good.
As a recap.
* Screen protector - Motorola A855 Droid Screen Protector ( 3Pack )
*Hardshell Case- Motorola A855 Droid Rubberized Shield Hard Case Black(Front only)
*Leather Phone Belt Case- Rocket fish (Universal-#RF-WR337
*DROID Car Mount- VZW-MOTA855MNT
Hope this helps!!

I've killed all my past phones by dropping them too many times and the biggest problem is that as a girl, my pockets barely fit phones, but pockets are the most convenient place to keep them!

I carry just a small backpack to school, and it does have a nice soft lined pocket for phones, but getting to my phone requires taking the backpack off. I don't really like the idea of having to always carry a separate smaller bag/purse just for my phone, but I really can't let myself fall into trusting my pockets again.

I think something that straps onto my backpack strap would be best, though I'm not sure how comfortable that really is. I've only used this sort of thing with messenger bags, but backpack strap are much tighter to the body than messenger bag straps.

Are these my only options? I'm leaning toward the Shagg bag so I can fit my debit card and one or two other things, but I can get the Slider for cheaper.

Timbuk2 Bags - Shagg Bag - Nylon Fabric (in medium)
Timbuk2 Bags - Slider - Ballistic Fabric
RAT™ WALLET - MAXPEDITION HARD-USE GEAR Tactical Nylon Gear for Military, Law Enforcement, Tactical Concealed Carry; Tailored to Perform Tactical
iPhone Smart Case - iPhone Protective Case - iPhone Sleeve - iPhone 3GS - Slim iPhone Case - Ultrasuede (Can the Droid even fit in this? It's kinda too expensive for me though)

Belt holsters are out of the question. As are fanny packs.

Some belt holsters might work on the backpack strap, how about this one, it has a clip and a loop on the back to put the strap through.

Amazon.com: Executive Black Horizontal Leather Side Case Pouch with Belt Clip and Belt Loops for Motorola Droid A855 [Accessory Export Packging]: Cell Phones & Service

I've seen more like this, my wife had one she secured to her purse strap to carry her last phone...

Huh, I hadn't thought about co-opting a belt holster onto my backpack strap. You really think it'd be secure enough? I'm worried that it'll slip off somehow.

While I wouldn't use an arm band as an arm band unless I'm exercising, it just occurred to me that I could potentially attach that to my backpack. I'll look into these.

Thanks for the options!
