Motorola Droid Case Reviews

PDair Leather Case for Motorola Milestone A855 - Vertical Pouch Type (Black) by PDair - PDair.com

My vertical pouch for my droid.

I do prefer the ones without the belt clip, since it's only for the pocket. I do like the way it's slim so it won't create much bulk inside the trouser pocket.

the droid fits snuggly in it, and even with gental shakes, it won't slide out easily.

Leather is the soft kind and it's nice to the touch.

Call me boring, but I like a simple case like this that provides adequate protection to my phone for all kinds of occassions.:)

thanks for reading

Cool, nice response. If the fit on my kutu case is normal, then I might be persuaded to keep it. I'm a case person and waiver a lot. Some days I'll feel like using a particular case and then others day I may want to use a different case or go naked. That is why I was considering keeping the Kutu even though I like the innocase. It is a beautiful, sleek, very professional looking case and having the screen protected is a nice add for times when the phone is going to go into a bag or something.

As for the case mate, to me that is the same kind of snap-on as the seidio innocase. The seidio case is the thinnest snap-on case on the market that I know of and offers the same kind of pseudo screen protection in that the case extends around the sides of the screen, so while not protecting the screen from say a puncture, it will keep the screen from being exposed if the phone were to say, go sliding across a surface face down.

With my innocase, I find the back plate to be just easy enough to remove for docking to not be annoying, but still hard enough to remove that it doesn't just come off. I'm pretty sure the Seidio innocase and holster will be my day to day case, and if I keep the kutu, it will be for when I'm using the Droid naked, carrying it in a bag, dressed up, etc and dont otherwise want the phone on my hip in a holster. I am a girl after all, LOL.

I think the main difference in the Case-Mate and some of the other snap-ons is that the Case-Mate covers the screen in plastic. There are obviously screen protector add ons, varying amounts of protection, but the Case-Mate covers the screen with material that allows the touch to still work. Must be interesting technology, there don't seem to be a lot of competition in this regard.

Case-mate

I posted this on a different thread, but thought this might be appropriate here. I had the body glove case, but the top cover only lasted me about 3 months. I don't really care for screen protectors and decided to get the case-mate naked cover. It's a bit pricey, but in my opinion it's well worth it. I use it with a rigged car dock and have no problem getting the navigation to go on with the magnet sensor. The case is simple but covers the phone perfectly, while allowing you access to all connectors and buttons. It's like having an invisashield, but only thicker. I like mine alot. Every now and then it'll get a bubble, but it's easy to get rid of it by pressing the edges. I've had other phones with screen protectors and I seem to go through them like toilet paper. It only adds about half an inch and the phone takes on a new sleek look. People always ask me where I got the case and sometimes think the phone and the case are one unit. Check them out if you want an alternative.

Ah yeah I see now from the review that was posted. Definitely a different approach. Screen protectors in general annoy me. I'm using one now because it was free, and will likely get a Boxwave at some point, but in general they all annoy me. I can't imagine having it built into the case.

I myself purchased the Xentrix hard shell outline case, and the Zag screen protector (front shield only), they both work well for me and when I need to have it on my hip, I bought a universal leather top loading case from Best Buy. It was an Eddie Bauer kind of special edition case that fit well, not tight, but snug.

I fully recommend the hard shell and the leather case for it, they really work well.

I just got my wife a Droid and she got the Body Glove Case.

She used to have a blackberry with a leather pouch she could open and take it out quickly that protected against the elements.

Is there a case like that for the Droid where the Body Glove would also fit into?

Thanks

I have the BodyGlove case, and I love the fit...however, there are 2 MAJOR issues with it.

1. You can't fit it into any dock or mm station.

2. If you plan on taking pictures, the case gets in the way...the flash creates a nasty haze from the rubberized hole that is on the back, and the clip actually gets in the way if you don't remove it first!

These issues should be non-existent.

You can leave your phone naked if you go with the zagg invisable shield.. I suck at putting on screen protectors and I aced this one....I cant scratch it if i try...loooooooove it

I wouldn't call not fitting into any dock or mm station a major flaw. Most cases that stay on the phone at all times don't fit in a dock. It's the nature of the beast.

Well, kind of belt and suspenders, but doubling up on protection never hurt. I'm not familiar though with the Xentrix hard shell outline case, could you post a link or an image? Do you have either of the docks (car + clock), do you have to take the hard case off to get them to work?
