Motorola Droid Fighter Pics & Some Specs Leaked; Looks Like Larger Droid RAZR

Motorola is most definitely flooding the market, and it's BAD. It is not the devices themselves, each device except for the ultra buggy X2, is a good, solid, well performing device. I waited since CES last year for the bionic, passing on the D3 and X2 because I knew they were just there filler " bridge" devices between major releases. I got my Bionic after an insanely long wait, and of course right after they release the better and every way RAZR and MAX. DROID Fighter is obviously just another filler device until another main release this summer.

They need to cut this crap and make it more like Samsung more clearcut flagship devices, and less filler.

So glad I didn't get the Maxx last month. This looks like it fixed everything that I thought sucked about the Maxx (Meh screen size, no HD screen, only 1.2 processor). I'd be kicking myself if I got the maxx.

Now_that_would have upset a lot of RAZR owners, me included :)

There has been a steady erosion of interest in Android handsets and tablets over the past 4 quarters and I believe that too many handsets flooding the market is a big part of the problem. Analytics already show that developers are moving away from Android for this very reason. Something really needs to be done or I believe Android is going to find itself desperately fending off Windows Phone for Market share in the future.

I completely agree with you here. No one wants to spend $200-$300 on a phone and have it be outdated in 4 weeks. This is the only reason I would consider an iphone. They don't update their software or hardware every month. IMO, it's simply because they don't have to. It works.

And android does? And when I say android I mean real android meaning nexus. Not manufacturers putting android on their devices.

How does it work lol iPhones have problems too they're not perfect. For a long time I believed they were perfect too, good GPS etc etc. I used my friends iPhone for directions that thing got lost about ten times. It kept skipping. Jumping. It had a million problems. Not to mention the maps on it wasn't as silky smooth as they make it out to be. Somehow my "choppy" android nexus was smoother.

And so many times I've heard my friends say "hold on its not working".

No that phone doesn't just work. Its just a pretty piece of glass. It works like every other phone.

If you're worried about not being outdated get a nexus. Do not get a Motorola that's for sure. Samsung is ok with their releases. HTC I think is improving too.

Only a 1.2 processor? Lol. Posts like this crack me up.

What's with all this moto bashing.

Do you even need to buy a new phone that often? Greedy

Really? Cause three of my friends that have them haven't had any issues. I never said I thought they were perfect. I had to get three replacement phones because things just quit working on them. I bet you'd be hard pressed to find an iphone user that experienced that. We should have a poll: "How many replacement phones have you been through?" I bet you might be surprised.

I've owned several androids and I've never had to replace one except my Droid one. The home button sensor went. And something with receiving calls. After a very long time of use and abuse.

Couple of my friends have switched their iPhones actually. For different reasons.

There's no such thing, IMHO. More choice is better, so long as the consumer is willing to do their homework before purchasing. I am sorry, this is how technology works, there IS no "too often, too early" so long as the device is ready to go to market. This whole expectation of Motorola to slow down their releases (which is NO quicker than any other manufacturer, IMHO) is frankly stupid, as it deviates from the way business works.

EDIT: Since each Motorola device is VZWs lineup right at this moment is aimed at a different market segment, there is no way that they are releasing devices too quickly. Right now, there is no overlap at all.

Definitely have to disagree with you there. The ridiculous pace of device releases is one of the main reason support is so lackluster for Android updates. There are over one hundred current Android devices available from all carriers, as in that are available brand new with contract as of right now, in the U.S. alone. That makes no sense what-so-ever. The fragmentation is ridiculous, and it especially sucks for people who end up with low end phones that never or seldom receive updates and fixes. It also makes roll-out far slower for fixes even on top-teir devices. Manufacturers need to scale production far, far back in terms of numbers of devices. Support would be better and prices would drop because they would be selling so many more of any given phone if consumers had more concise choices.

The current business model isn't good for anyone, but hey, people can believe what they want.

Motorola welcomes a new addition to the RAZR family, the RAZR MAXX HD! Stay tuned for next months release of the RAZR MAXX HD MAXX!

This has gone silent for a few days. With April right around the corner I thought we might start hearing about the fighter more.

I don't really come into droidforums.net very much but I saw this subject and couldn't help myself
Yes Motorola is very dumb for releasing multiple phones one after another with no gap inbetween

HTC waited a good amount of time same as Samsung and with Motorola releasing phones mainly to VZW makes me wonder if this means the other carriers r soon to fall

All in all I wouldn't buy a single Motorola phone due to these past releases cuz I do like having a top-end phone for a lil while without having a phone released that looks and works the same just with a bigger battery or stupid crap like that if ppl wanted a bigger battery they would buy an extended battery instead of releasing one with an extended battery built in

So I'm not hyped about this Droid Fighter cuz I know it will just have a younger better looking, better functioning counter part a month down the line
So I say you Motorola save you money and wait for a better time to release after u have tweaked and modified it then release it stop becoming an attention whore

Yeah this rumor kind of died! I have been looking everyday on the web for more news and not a peep. I wonder if this is a bogus rumor?

I'm inclined to agree. I have not seen anything new on this since around 3/20 ish. I've seen something on a Blade from Moto, but it doesn't appear to be as promising (not much credibility).
