Motorola Droid + Froyo = A Speed Demon

Are u reading the test right? The orange bar that says 'your device' is pp's current Droids running 2.2.

Getting 2Mbps download which is up from ~1.7Mbps down before this baseband update. My upload speeds stayed around the same at .6-.7Mbps. I was using speedtest.net app for these readings. What is everyone else getting?

Me too Thoraldus...I'm running Froyo 2.2, with 1.2 P3 kernel. Holy s**t, is this thing fast!

Tried three tests ...
1 - Scored 1586
2 - Scored 1481
3 - Scored 1441

Letting it rest right now, as I have been playing with it all day. Will try a few more later on tonight.

Previous Quadrant score of 513 running BB v1.0 w/ bekit 800Mhz LV Kernel

Current Quadrant score of 1068 running BB Froyo w/ p3Droid 800Mhz LV Kernel

I just have a stock Droid with 2.1. I got a score of 368 which is slightly higher than than the Moto Droid shown on the chart. Is my slightly higher score due to having 2.1 where the stock Droid came with 2.0.1? I will be very curious as to how much Froyo increases my totally stock Droid.

it will go to about 1100 +/- with stock kernel in it.

Not 1100+ w/ stock kernel. With the stock 550Mhz Kernel a Droid will hit low 800's. Which is still a marked improvement from the 360'ish scores a stock 2.1 Droid gets now.

initial install of froyo with no kernel and no apps installed I hit 1090.
thats better than the 702 max I could get out of my cm5071 running at 1.1ghz

Okay, so here's the question:
Meaningless benchmarks aside, how fast does this "feel". Is homescreen scrolling smooth? Do apps open any faster?

I'm very interested in this as well. Regardless of how much I OC I can't get the Droid to run as smooth at my friends Nexus 1. Running "Stock" Froyo how does the homescreen scrolling feel?

My DROID: 1242
My Rooted EVO: 580

I'm running overclock widget instead of SetCPU, and seeing how far that takes me, some guy on his EVO (with normal use he says) got 21hrs of battery with 49% remaining. I'm testing both my EVO and my Droid.
