Not to cause a stir, but I've heard from 2 separate sources that this device is as far from what is in the original post as could possibly be.
Is it better or worse?

Well, if we want to speculate, the Droid X specs are a good starting point...
So what could be different and still disappointing? Front-facing camera? Physical keyboard? Maybe 1 gig ram instead of 512? But I have to believe it will have a next gen processor, which would be 1.5ghz anyway.
Would have to have all the above at a minimum to be more than and incremental upgrade, and I do think it will be more (along with LTE). We'll see I guess.
I vote for a physical keyboard too. I'd love it to have a dedicated numeric row and have alt and shift on both sides. I'm disappointed that the Droid 2 still doesn't have the numeric row and they've eliminate the alt and shift on the right side - making it even harder to do numeric entry.
At the very least, if you don't have a numeric row, make a decimal point available when you're in numeric entry - it's like these designers never took an ergonomics course.

so if YOU was a person wanting a nice android device, with Full android capabilities. And you only had one device you could buy this year where would YOU look to buy based on YOUR sources.:icon_eek:

Well from what I've heard over at howardforums from bill23/xbernaut is that there will be no front facing camera. Someone else did post something that said it may not have a locked bootloader which would definitely be nice. Hopefully we'll get more info soon.

Ok I'm not liking the last few posts information. I want this phone to be good. I'm sure it won't suck but you never know. No front facing camera?? Come on now I was really looking forward to this. It needs to have new fearures that my current droid doesn't have. Improved specs are nice but give me something new......pllleeeaassseeeee?!?!?!

Who cares about a front facing camera? It's not like video calling on a mobile device has ever caught on. Anywhere. Even in Japan it hasn't caught on with the average user last I heard. I can do without that novelty.

Yeah I can see that. Not everyone would use the front facing camera. I probobly won't use it that much. But its something I would like to have anyway.
Maybe we will get some more info leaked about it soon. Maybe ill head over to howard forums and see what is going on.
The Droid Pro thread over at howardforums hasn't seen any new info since the "confirmation" of something close to these specs.... I'm pretty sure bill23 deleted his account and made a new one but is not giving as much info to the Verizon Android forums over there

An unlocked bootloader would be AMAZING!!!! And yes bill23 is a very reliable source, however I haven't heard a peep from him since right before the x came out.
