Motorola Droid Pro

I'm tellin' you guys....
The Droid Pro is NOT going to be the Droid2WE.

Write it down cereal, one of my best buds works at Verizon Wireless World HQ in Ashburn,VA.
He says, and I quote; "Droid2WE is exactly the same as Droid2 EXCEPT for the GSM radio".

These are the specs I have been told for DroidPro;
1.3ghz (Possibly TI ARM-Cortex9)
1gb ram
HDMI out
8mp 5x zoom camera with dual LED flash
FM receiver (no transmitter, sorry)

Now for the really big shocker.
He tells me that DroidPro will not only come out this year (Black Friday or later), it will come sporting an LTE radio, making it the first Verizon LTE handset.
Your misunderstanding what I'm saying.

The Droid Pro you are referring to is more than likely the A957. The Droid Pro code name no longer exists.

The A957 is what the tech blogs are speculating as having the 1.3GHZ 4" screen etc etc.

The tech blogs are making a mess of this whole thing : )

bill and winston said the device will be a "monster" and I find it hard to believe with the specs being thrown around now that thats what they would describe the device as. They just didn't say it would be a nice little bump they said it was going to be pretty impressive.

I'm going with dual core until one of those guys shoots it down or gives us the specs.

you hit the nail on the head, there!! :)

Ok now this makes total sense. When you get rid of the pro code name it all starts to fit together.

It wouldnt suprise me if was an LTE phone. In fact it would surprise me if it wasnt. It would make a nice Black Friday promotion.

It would make sense to make it an LTE phone. I'm just not sure they will or not. I think the "Sick" very well could have LTE if it's everything possible for a cell phone, but who knows...

Well he is still calling it the" pro". And when I said Ti ARM cortex9 I was verifying the dual-core assessment. I see what you're saying, but what im saying is that the leaked list does not yet include the droid" pro" or any other LtE devices.

The proof will be in the pudding. My bud has always been right in the past.

So you don't think 1.3ghz on a new architecture will be" impressive"? Look at the performance boost that hummingbird gives over snapdragon with the same clock speed.

Well.. now I dont know what to think.. but CK might get to tell a few of us "Told ya so.." lol

We've learned from a source close to the situation that the rumored global version of the Droid 2 with GSM and CDMA radios is actually the same phone as the also-rumored Droid Pro -- although Verizon apparently has a tendency to fiddle with branding right up until the last minute, so the retail name could still change. It's identical to the current Droid 2 in every way except for the fact that it houses a GSM / HSPA radio for global roaming, though we're not able to confirm previous rumors that it'll be available in a white version; presumably, you'll pay a bit more than the Droid 2's $200 on contract for the privilege of being able to take your buddy overseas. Barring any last-minute delays, we should see it launch within weeks.

If you're sick and tired of Motorolas, let's switch gears a bit and talk about the follow-up to LG's enV Touch. Interestingly, LG will be switching from a proprietary featurephone platform to Android for this one -- called the enV Touch 2 -- and will give it dual touchscreens: one on the outside, and another on the inside for when you flip open the clamshell. As you might expect for an enV-branded device, there's also a full QWERTY keyboard. It's currently running Android 2.1, though it's not clear whether that'll be upgraded to 2.2 by the time we see a release toward the holidays. It's said to be pretty big and heavy, which could be a disadvantage for some -- but on the flipside, it's apparently a global device, so that's a plus. enVs historically haven't been the most exciting things in Verizon's stable, but we'll admit, we're curious to see this one get fleshed out.

Exclusive: Droid Pro is the global version of the Droid 2, LG enV Touch 2 will be Android-powered -- Engadget

before the "i told ya so's" start flyin', let's just bow down to CK... :) :hail::hail::hail::hail:

does this mean we need yet another forum for the Droid Sick/A957??? :rofl3:
