Music causes DX to power off...

I had been using a paid version of PowerAmp. Never had this problem before Gingerbread. However, it seems at least once during every workout session (which is when I listen to music on my DX), the DX will power off. I have to hold down the power button for a while before it will even turn back on. I uninstalled PowerAmp completely, and tried using the stock player. Same issue.

Any ideas? Thanks.

I have had the same problem since Gingerbread. I've tried factory reset, called vzw, got a few refurbs and they all do the same thing. I'm hoping the new fix actually fixes it!

No... the phone is not physically hot.

Supposedly, MOTO is working on Gingerbread 4.5.602. I haven't heard anything concrete on that though.

I would try a data wipe

I found that if the music player is on the screen when the display goes off...."poof". I start the music, set to randomize, +minimize it+ then turn off the display. No more problems. M.

I had the same problem with my X, and Verizon is sending me a free X2.. Should be here tomorrow.

My x does the same thing everyday when I listen to music it shuts off...I've done the factory reset but nothing works...and this started after gingerbread

Since GB, mine shuts off at any random time. Music, no music, idle or working. It doesn't matter.

Same here. Is why I'm going to samsung droid charge. GB for DX sucks. Guna have to sell the DX. Which is a real bummer cuz it's in tip top condition with nice cases and cool phone protectors. So long DX! =(

Time to root boys. I have never had that issue on all the rooted GB leaks or any custom ROM.

I have Rooted GB and yesterday I had this problem for the first time. I have been rooted with GB for months now and never had this problem until yesterday. I wounder if it was related to using the sleep mode on my phone. I never really used it until yesterday and I used the sleep mode about 5 times. Then while listening to music through Power Amp my phone just shut off. It was not hot and I had to pull the battery before I could reboot.

Since Google, Verizon and Motorola keep blaming each other and not even trying to fix the problems, my next phone will be an Iphone on another carrier. :-(

mine too and it's interesting

Mine does the same thing. Many random reboots. The wierd part is that I had the .577 version of GB on mine before the .596 and it was flawless. My phone had never been so good. I thought what the heck I will run the .596 and surely it's better. Had these issues ever since and I don't think it's as fast as .577 was with data. The speedtest results I used to get with .577 were great. If my signal is strong I get good speed with .596, but the signal is rarely as good so the speed suffers. I'm about to the point I'm ready to sbf back and then just reload the .577 or try another rom. In my opinion .596 stinks.
