Music player

Would it be possible to replace my ipod touch that recently broke... with my droid? How do you think my battery (stock) would perform while playing music through wired ear buds?

Sure you can! Just replace the rom and kernel with one that offers ultra low voltage, and set the max speed to as low as you can tolerate, Im sure with the screen off you could muster 12+ hours of music. My D2G has horrendous battery life but i can get hours like that with specific settings

Maybe you can me into the right direction where I can find tuturials that are good? Im new to droids :)

Battery is fine for music... no need to install roms or anything. DO install poweramp though.... awesome music player!

If you want to save battery, I would suggest juicedefender with ultimatejuice. Literally doubled my battery life.

Add me to the list that says you can listen to music for multiple hours on your stock Droid X with stock battery...with no mods, extra battery apps, or solar panels...

Snag PowerAmp from the Market...free version is a trial, the paid full version is worth it for all the added abilities...and it will play just about all file formats for music.

Playing audio is not all that battery killing...hence partly why iPods have awesome battery life when just playing music. What hurts kind of on a DX is if you are constantly "waking" the phone to swap songs...if you set up playlists and just let them play through, you should have countless hours of musical enjoyment from a single battery charge..

Put it in airplane mode forever (wifi still works) and you will have amazing battery life, probably better than your touch. If you root and install liquid gingerbread, you can use the droids exterior buttons to avoid having to wake up the device to switch songs and pause music, for even better battery life. It even works with the popular 3rd party music players.

Swipe four corners at the android screen to skip activation if you don't want to add a verizon line.

I use my X all day long playing music at times while I'm at work.

I use the VZ high capacity battery & MixZing to play music.

Stock ROM (I see little reason to change it). Yesterday, I played music for 7 straight hours & still had 70% battery life.

Are you using anything rooted?

Also.. I couldn't find VZ high capacity battery on the app market?

You might want to consider picking up a "new" ipod. If your main concern is battery try picking up a used, older nano or classic. Im using a 6th gen classic that is 2 years old and still goes 6 days without a charge.
