Music player

Just thinking about this, did you make any changes or download any apps on the day that your problem started? If so, delete the/those apps and see if your music player will work again.

Yes, do this first before you do anything else. Thanks 94... I sort of thought this but neglected to mention it. Good Call!

Thanks! I truly have to say...everything I know about android, I learned from people on this very forum. This was my "go to" place when I got my og Droid and I learned how to root that thing from here before I even decided to become a member. Chevyno1's roms were my favorite.

YanniX, let us know how it goes. We will try to keep troubleshooting until we figure it out.

Thanks for your suggestions! I tried to use my brothers phone, and the songs were played normally. So it is due to the app itself. A total reboot is the last thing I wanna do, I did that one time before (because of a heavier crash), but it's far from ideal.

I'm not sure when it was exactly the first time it happened. I said since a week, but it could also be two weeks. Max a month. I only use my musicplayer when I'm going on holiday, like now. So I don't have a computer with me... :s

Is there a place where you can see which apps you downloaded last week/month?

Nice story that baby language "dutch"! :p

On your phone, go into you play store, which used to be called Google market here in US... it is the place where you find android apps you want to install. Then go to menu and select "my apps". This will give you a list of all the apps you have installed in alphabetical order but if you slide that screen over it will give you a list of all the apps you have ever installed in the order that they were last updated or installed. Be aware that an app that you may have installed months ago but recently updated will be listed first. If you know it is an app that you have had for a long time with no problems, ignore it. Most likely it is not your problem. But if you notice an app that you first installed in the last month, one by one, uninstall those.

After each one you uninstall, try your music player and see if there is any difference. If there is no difference, reboot your phone and try your music again. If there is still no difference, then that app was probably not your problem and you can reinstall it.

Repeat this for each app that you have installed recently until you find the one that is causing the problem.

Hopefully, this will be your fix. If not keep coming back and we will keep trying other ideas.

Glad you liked my "you speaking Dutch" story. I catch myself saying that to little kids and they always keep babbling away thrilled that you are having fun listening to them. It is one of those endearing things my family says and being that we are partly Dutch, it is probably something they have said for generations.

Ok, thats funny tis! Do know if you have any dutch ancestors?

I tried to delete most of my last downloaded apps, but it still doesnt work. Little change it's one of my apps I think. May be it is a bug due to another type of file, program or type of data...

I don't know, but I think I am going to let it like this for a while. Just no music for a while... :s

I don't like a total reset, I will certainly forget to save data on my computer, like photos or messages from my girlfriend ;p

But thank you very much for all your help! Keep troubleshooting please!

Hmmm, do you know how to boot your device into safe mode?? I've been Googling it for your device, nothing so far.

Ja, ik heb Nederlands, Duits, Welch en Ierse in mij.

I really don't speak real Dutch. I don't even know how to pronounce that... but the Google translate app can for me!

This is a grasping at straws (that is an expression that means just making a wild guess because it's worth a try). For some reason this has seemed to work for many issues. Power off your phone. Take out the sim card very very carefully because it is delicate. Turn your phone back on then turn it off again. Put your sim card back in and power up your phone.

94lt, is that the right sequence. Do you think it could work for this problem?

Its worth a shot... i would definitely give it a try and then you might consider a factory reset.

something to add.

A factory data reset is a hassle to many, BUT the fact of the matter is that a factory data reset will usually cure/resolve all software issues. If you do a FDR and the problem persists, then its hardware.
