Seriously - I figured he had overcharged it, or stored it in the back of his pinto right before the crash, or put it in the microwave to overclock it, or maybe maybe it had seen an iPhone got a swell head and stuck a grenade under it to bring it down to earth.
Or... Maybe he was just excited because a Droid is just so AWESOME!
