Wow so happy, just got my new SPEN I ordered yesterday afternoon from Amazon!!!! And it works!
All that BS Samsung told me about pairing the Spen was a lie!
The Samsung supervisor a woman from Denver told me on the phone that night that the Spen had to be paired with the EMEI number of the phone, I am typing this right now with my new pen! Ridiculous...I even asked her if I could get an SPEN from Amazon and she said it won't work!

Doesn't matter the title, they all have to follow a certain protocol when it comes to dealing with customers. The only advantage a supervisor has is to probably stray a bit away from the protocol and try to relieve whatever issue as quickly as possible. Obviously this supervisor was following protocol and just trying to get your device into Samsung.
Glad to hear it works. Hopefully others with s-pen issues see this thread or can come to the conclusion that the s-pen doesn't need to be synced or paired in anyway.
