I'm due for an upgrade mid NOV so I think if something comes out with something then i MAY be tempted but I kinda want to see what HTC has in stock, and then LG. Remember HTC was a relatively unknown with the exception of the Tilt and Tityn on AT&T until the produced th G1 now look at them. I dont think LG would go big like this unless they were TRULY planning something mind blowing.

And that companies screw up a handset now and again isn't particularly relevant, as your Apple example proves - it was 3G to a 3G handset. I think analog to digital is apples and oranges to 3G to LTE. When an engineer says "just swap the radio" that limits the risk pretty much to the radio and sim card, which they've been testing for months and will be proven in the PC card biz for months before the handsets come out.
Just saying I don't think the risk of this "new" tech being screwed up is any more or less than your typical handset. It strikes me as a chicken little argument and is no reason to stay away from LTE.

In the past 10 pages, I have seen one person badger Miami to post info.. For the most part, people just stopped with the badgering and some of this thread may be filled with garbage, but a lot of this thread is also discussion about features that the phone might end up having, and discussion is WAY different than senseless garbage.

I could not agree more. If you are going to buy a car and you're buying it brand new for full price, if the car has some dents here or there, are you still going to buy it? No, because you're paying for a new car and you should be receiving what you pay for, not a "like new" car that has a few dents.

Exactly my thoughts. All of the LTE phones will be CDMA/LTE for awhile since Verizon is planning on still using their considerable CDMA footprint for voice.
Companies have been making dual-radio World Phones for some time now without issue.... It wouldn't be any different.

If you're going to buy a car you know EXACTLY what is in that car if you don't you're a fool. However to think that I can sit on an internet forum and DEMAND anything of a car manufacturer is ridiculous. THAT is the point I am making. When I go to look for a new vehicle YES, I will demand that my car comes off the lot absolutely spotless and without a dent. BUT I think the car manufacturer knows a good bit more about the manufacturing process of a car and what features are feasible in a car to keep it at a price point I will still buy.
You're completely missing the point that if I don't LIKE what is offered in the car, I DON'T HAVE TO BUY IT. Just like a meal thats not to standard and a car that has dents in it. I don't sit around and complain or demand that the car that I want right now doesn't have the features I want. I simply look elsewhere or wait for the next model. NOT that hard to comprehend in my opinion.

No, you're missing the point. No one is saying that this phone MUST have anything, simply that it MUST have those things if we are going to buy it.
Using the car analogy, what we are saying would be akin to "if Chevy really wants to sell me a truck, it'll get 25mpg".... now, since Chevy doesn't make a truck with 25mpg, we would obviously look elsewhere.... but we could still say to each other "damn I wish Chevy made a truck that gets 25mpg."
So.... if HTC wants to ever sell me a phone again it better have a better battery than my Inc, and have LTE. My last 3g phone will be an Apple vPhone, HTC's only hope to bring me back is to sell me my first 4g phone...

Its just that a ive read a lot in this thread especially where people seem to think their entitled to demand anything from someone they willing buy a service from. People bashing a company just because theyre not getting everything they think they need.
They run a business just like I do. If one of my clients came in and demanded that I change the service that I provided because they werent getting something they really didn't need, I would laugh at them, then wish them luck and hope they stayed alive. Customers and clients like that don't make or break a business.
Do I understand where they're coming from? Yeah. Can I offer the same services with their demands being met at the same price? NO. Are they willing to pay more for their demands that really aren't necessary? In most cases NO.

What I don't get in this thread is all the misdirected vitriol for VZW. VZW isn't in the business of selling phones. They don't make money on phones. On the contrary, the phones cost them money via a subsidy.
Sure, VZW makes money indirectly off the phones. But with LTE right around the corner I seriously doubt they are worried about the relatively small amount of customers they might lose. Carriers are losing customers all the time on the margin who care more about the hardware than the service. VZW has literally 150-200k subscribers coming up on contract each DAY. They'll obviously take a longer-term view on customer acquisition and retention. On any given day, there's always 10k customers or more who are going to jump for the latest tech (and this applies with other carriers, too). That's just the nature of the business. So VZW can keep/lose/gain those 10k customers today or next month, it's a wash that won't drive decisions.
Threads that are concerning highly anticipated devices always seem to get a little off track which is fine, but the disrespect for fellow members, name calling, and badgering will not be tolerated - this thread will be closed and a new one on this subject would be questionable if this continues, it would be a lose - lose situation for everyone involved - lets not go that route
