Mysterious Device Now With November 23 Launch date

Someone brought up a good point in this ginormous thread -> where is the FCC certification for this mysterious phone? What are the chances of it getting passed by FCC between now and tomorrow when the pre-order's are supposedly going live? Are we sure that Miami's 'contacts' aren't confusing the well known HTC MERGE with this other phone? Merge pre orders starting on the 11th for release later this month sound A LOT more reasonable than a phone we have not heard anything except "my cousins father's brother's sister's husband told my brother's cousin's friend that verizon told him that a superphone is coming out this month!" .

No offense to any of you guys but it's pretty safe to say you guys are getting way too excited for something that isn't coming out this month. I'm sure there will be a nice htc LTE phone due next year but take a step back and see how can it be possible for the phone to be out this month without any official details/screens yet released. Just look at the merge, there's videos on youtube showing it off... and this phone? nothing.

Hopefully Miami will be able to share something today and shed some light on the device, the lack of FCC information and when it will actually go on sale. I did call Verizon last night and they said that the only HTC device they have pending in their system to order is the Merge. They have nothing on anything else - this was from both calling *611 and the local corporate store.

I really hope Miami gives us some more information today. This past week/weekend he indicated that the pictures/specs/info would be Monday at the earliest but mroe than likely Tuesday or Wednesday. Well, now it is Wednesday...so hopefully the information is coming that will clear these things up.

Been enjoying this thread and really looking forward to getting the DINC HD when it comes out. A big thanks to Miami for the info he's provided. After being a fan of phones and then smartphones for the past 12 years there's something that's bothering me about this upcoming release and I think a lot of us are going to be disappointed on Friday.

What we know:
There are some pics of a device that we're assuming is the DINC HD
Miami has a contact that states the phone is going to be available for preorder on Friday.

That's it, this is not to disparage Miami or state what he's telling us isn't true, it's just that EVERY other phone that comes out has leaks, pictures, images of the phone in some companies' system. We have none of that here at all. Try to think back in the last year when the last time a phone was released that we didn't have any info, and now we're told it'll be available on Friday? It just doesn't add up or make sense. I have my doubts about the info his connection is providing, but I have no doubts about the sincerity of the posts.

Like I said, I want this as much as anyone else, but these threads tend to get people worked up to a frenzy and I'm afraid there's going to be a bunch of really upset people come 12:01am on Friday and then throughout the day as members of this great site keep refreshing VZW's site and calling.

Not trolling, just trying to state what is pretty obvious when you sit back and look at this objectively.

It's just a pre order tho. Most of the time Verizon likes to release phones on Thursdays. But look at the D2 world edition. That phone started selling yesterday on a Tuesday. and the Droid Pro went on Pre-Order yesterday. I even asked a couple Verizon reps about it and they told me that today (yesterday) was the first time they heard of the Droid Pro and the Droid 2 world edition. im 100% sure the phone will be ready online Friday. it's going to replace the original Dinc just like the D2 w/e replaced the original D2. So till we hear something different from Miami. The 12th is still on for us. ***EVERYONE. i have talked to a couple of Verizon reps. ALL PRE-ORDERS are to be made online. They cannot do it over the phone. I don't know why, but that's what i been told. When you log on to your "My Verizon account", Next to your phone model it will say Pre-Order Our Latest Device.*** Right now it only has the Droid Pro. I can't wait for Friday!

If buy any chance this phone slips into next year then ill just have more time to save money towards it, an LTE frequency would definitely be nice but I don't know about paying extra for a service that I may not have any time soon

Oddly enough the Desire HD made it through the FCC without US 3G bands, not sure what this means....

I assume that when Miami gets the green light to release info...that it will be released into a new forum/thread and include specs, pics and release information.

I was hoping that would be this morning...

Why is everybody assuming that Miami is the official mouthpiece for the release of this phone. If and when he does release any information, it will also be released by several other sources at the same time. Is Miami a marketing director for any of the players of this phone? Maybe he is. I just don't see him getting exclusive rights to release information for a major new player in the market. My opinion of course.

I don't have to speak for Miami, he can speak for himself but from what I know about his contacts they are indeed very real sources that provide usually sound information. Has he been wrong? Yes, he has. But he an only relay what they tell him and hope for the best. It isn't a case of my uncle's cousin herd from his sister, etc. etc.

I have absolutely no interest in this phone myself other then to see if Miami is correct and how people are going to react to whatever happens. Personally I sure hope he's correct because some of you are pretty wound up about this. If things should go South on us I expect to see a large amount of criticism so as a moderator I have to hope for the best.

Anyway I do want to get across the idea that the contacts he has are legitimate and pretty reliable. So we will find out on the 23rd. Thanks to every one for keeping this a relatively easy thread to keep an eye on, and I hope that on the 23rd we shut this down with a new thread. We probably will have to one way or another. I'm hoping for the best for all of you.

Hopefully we can shut this thread down on Friday when the pre-order site goes up with VZW. If Miami is correct and the phone is available for pre-order on Friday - then we will have pictures, specs and official release data from VZW in just two days. There will no longer be need for a thread full of speculation. If we are waiting until the 23rd...for pics/specs then there is a real problem.

I don't think anyone is thinking that Miami is the "official mouthpiece" for the release of this phone...but he is by his own admission in contact with multiple sources within VZW and has slowly trickled information out on this device. He has also stated multiple times that he has pictures and that he has seen two devices and that as soon as VZW gives him the green light he will release that information to us. He also stated that this was the week that information would be released "Monday at the earliest but most likely Tuesday or Wednesday". So I think it is reasonable for people to look to him to release information today. Again - we are just going based on what he has told us.

Very true ^. Miami is just the messenger. What he's told, he shares. Another thing some members need to remember. Miami has said that the phone will be ready for pre-orders on the 12th "Again it could change but that's the word today" So if i don't see it on Verizon’s website on Friday i WILL NOT be disappointed.

went through the FCC e-filings. Didn't find anything regarding this phone OR Merge. Did find stuff on HTC 7 Pro however. May be I didn't search correctly, but no info on this out there yet.

Perhaps it will take time.

correction. Found all HTC Win Pho 7 phones. No HTC Droids that are suppose to come out soon yet

Well, I may have found something https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas...e=N&application_id=330491&fcc_id='NM8PD06100' It's got the same transmit and receive freqs as the specs listed for the Merge, and it's listed as a Smartphone. Also, if you look at the confidential letter, HTC has asked to keep the good parts confidential until November 30, 2010 which is the same date that HTC asked for the Merge.

Big difference though, how many pics of the Droid 2 WE did we have before it was released or even announced? A lot. We knew that it would be in two colors. The Droid pro was a bit of a surprise but it was announced before preorder. There's no concrete proof this phone exists, and the evidence that we do have is very weak -- just some pics of what might not even be this phone from 3 months ago and Miami's word of mouth. I am NOT saying Miami isn't right, just saying his contacts might not be. Again I hope I'm wrong.
