Mysterious Device Now With November 23 Launch date

I have to say - that if HTC and Verizon manage to keep this secret as tight as they have and it really does go on sale this Friday - they will have trumped Apple in their ability to keep a tech secret.

Now - one way they might have been able to keep this a secret is the fact that they have so many versions of this phone on the world market between the Windows 7 phone, EVO and Desire. It very well could be right under our noses from a manufacturing perspective and within the FCC.

That being said - I really hope that Miami gets the green light to share with us before Friday's sale date. I plan on ordering as soon as the site goes live.

I had to fix other issues with my account, but I just got off the phone with Verizon and the customer service rep looked up the Droid Incredible HD in the system and said that it won't be available for pre-order until Friday.

Very interesting. When I called they knew nothing about it.

They definitely should win an award for secrecy. It's impressive if this turns out to happen on Friday (I'm really hoping).

I think you're right about the Evo and Desire, etc. masking this phone. That would make a lot of sense. I also think, since HTC and Verizon are coming out with so many phones in such a short period of time, it's easy for people to overlook, and for HTC to hid, the Incredible HD, especially with their heavy push of the original DInc.

But yeah, I hope we get some pics before Friday, just so we know what we're buying ;)

I am prepared to say "sorry" and eat crow on Friday- question is are all of the folks that flamed and pushed back will do the same? Either there will be a crow snackbox for me, or a few crow buckets and sides for all of you that cling to the end ;)

No information other than word from another person, that could have easily been misundertood. Less than two days :)

I expect to eat some chiken tikka at a local Indian buffet on Friday. Crow could be on the menu for others ;)

Big difference though, how many pics of the Droid 2 WE did we have before it was released or even announced? A lot. We knew that it would be in two colors. The Droid pro was a bit of a surprise but it was announced before preorder. There's no concrete proof this phone exists, and the evidence that we do have is very weak -- just some pics of what might not even be this phone from 3 months ago and Miami's word of mouth. I am NOT saying Miami isn't right, just saying his contacts might not be. Again I hope I'm wrong.

Is there a particular reason you and some others seem so very much to want him to be wrong? I'm just curious.

And how long have you been around this board and what do you know of Miami's past history of information? His contacts are much different than a general sales person in a store whispering rumors.

First, I've never said I want him to be wrong, and I'm not doubting his reputation, so take it is easy. I actually want him to be right becuase I want to replace my Incredible and wasn't happy with the Fascinate or X that I owned briefly.

I've been on this forum for a year and owned the OG the day before it officially came out and bought it at Walmart. I've also been a member at Howardforums since 2001, so yes, I've been around and seen a lot of phone releases. It's because of my past experiences, which there have been many, that leads me to believe this won't be happening soon.

Too many people, and it seems including you, aren't looking at this rationally. New phone releases have leaks, documents, verification processes, FCC filings, people who loose the prototypes at bars, post pics from reps who have the phone, etc. Where is any of that evidence? There isn't any.

I was around for the original Incredible release on Androidforums. People had confirmed with reps that it would be announced at the same time the EVO was, and guess what, it wasn't announced. The boards got ugly because so many people wanted that phone to come out, and when it didn't people went crazy. I think the people here are different, but because of posts like yours, accusing those of us who haven't drank the kool-aid of not wanting the phone to come out soon is stupid and derisive. Some of us here seem to be based more in reality than others.

That is funny because i went to the Verizon store not far from my office to get a case for my wife's phone. When I asked them about a pre-order coming this Friday about the HTC Incredible HD they never heard of the phone. So I asked the guy how long do you guys get the phone before it is to be released. He said that they get a sample of the phone 3 weeks to a month before the phone is released... he told me the same thing the guy in my vanpool told me. Although I hate to say it I do not think this phone will be released this month maybe next month or the 1stQ of next year... I can't see the people at Verizon being so hush hush about a phone that will put them against the Sprint Evo 4G...

I want Miami to be correct too, since the person seems cool and unlike some here... does NOT get defensive. Even Miami is not for sure and admits it. No harm no foul for me, since I would have to pay full price, so a tablet to compliment my Inc 1 will be my best $ option.

Besides the fact I can not spell "chicken", I will be happy to send you all some curry sauce to coat all that crow in ;)

At least at some point, an Inc HD is coming- just probably not on crowday :)

I will be ecstatic if I have to eat crow on friday! In fact I'll post a big apology from my new phone!

Release date and preorder date not the same

I know but He said that there is no pre-order date set for this phone because he has not seen the phone also he said. We do not have pre-orders on phones that have not been announced by Verizon Wireless. As far of this phone He said that he has not even seen it. That is why I asked him what time they get the phones before the release date..

Well I have a brother and sister in law who work for verizon who didn't know about the pro until the day before and one is a regional manager of inventory cmon if anyone would know our world be her. So what I'm saying is that them not having it doesn't mean anything

To be clear, I am far from being derisive or antagonizing with my posts. And the tone of your posts does give the intention of wanting to prove him wrong. If that isn't the case, then I'm sorry.

As far as not being grounded in reality about this, Verizon has already made two surprise moves this week with releases that caught people off guard. That is why I have my reason to believe Miami. That, and the fact that he has actually seen the preproduction unit.

As far as saying my posts are the reason these threads get ugly, really? You may want to look at my history on here compared to others.
