New Bionic user, needs help rooting with 5.9.905 update

Hi, all.

Forgive my ignorance, and I hope I'm not kicking a dead horse, but I need step-by-step instructions to root my Bionic after the 5.9.905 update. One thing that frustrates me is that all the web & forum sources I've found don't give thorough instructions at all, or the instructions they do give are hopelessly outdated. My previous phone, an LG Revolution, was super-easy to root, but I'm finding out that the Bionic isn't so easy. Please let me know where I can find up-to-date, step-by-step instructions to root my Bionic that has the 5.9.905 update. Thanks.

What is "rooting" and what does it do for/to my RAZR? Is "tethering" the same thing?

Just run that exe on your computer after connecting your phone using the USB cable. Make sure you have USB debugging enabled in application settings before you run it.

Just run that exe on your computer after connecting your phone using the USB cable. Make sure you have USB debugging enabled in application settings before you run it.

help

My droid bionic was previously rooted. I got the new 905 update and titanium stopped working as it said it could not get root access. I just ran the exe file from above and titanium still says it can not get root access. how can i tell if it is rooted or help with getting titanium to work. Probably a dumb question but I am a very old novice and help would be appreciated.

Uninstalled titanium and reloaded it and it is working now.

tried motofail, laptop rebooted with phone......no root....

My phone is stock 5.9.905, everything seemed to be working fine...."waiting on device to reboot", then the computer shuts down.....no root. Computer shuts off every time. Any ideas?
