[New!]D1-MIUI-1.3.11.0

I don't know why, but it seems like the native app killer is very aggressive on my phone with MIUI now. It has been like that on the last few builds at least. I have a good amount of widgets on my screen and when I open up System App Panel, it'll show only like 2 or 3 apps open in the foreground and background. And still only have like 30MB of free RAM available. It seems like the launcher and system are hogging up a TON of memory. Widgets like Facebook and Pulse won't update.

It seems to get better if I switch to LP. But I don't really wanna do that and lose some of the functionality and look of the MIUI launcher. I can't imagine how bad it would be if it was gingerbread based. Though I did try out UD gingerbread ROM, and didn't seem to have that problem. Unfortunately, the ROM didn't agree with my phone.

miui 1.3.11

im Having issues with my droid 1 using miui1.3.11 and past versions. If i draw the txt msg notication down on the lockscreen to check a current received msg. the mms opens but wont show the current msg. I have to press the back button and re click on the mms to see my msgs. Also its pretty slow. Do you guys have any suggestions

So does anyone have a flashable zip for the old miui blue keyboard. Really don't want to use the stock one seeing as I haven't used it in months and it doesn't look great with miui.

You are using the miui keyboard. I used the one that came with the milestone build. Jamezelle was using a different one. If you want the old one just grab the latinime app from an old build.

How would I go about switching them without my computer? I just really want the old keyboard back!

extract the latinime keyboard app from a previous build, prob feb build, using root explorer and move it to system/app, changing the permissions to rw-r--r--

what are you overclocking at? Assumin you are...maybe try to increase the speed and flash another kernel.

Im currently using slayhers LFY 1100 SLV kernel and phones flying for me.

was i supposed to d/l gapps too? market was on the rom so i was able to get what i needed...

i noticed from the OP you're supposed to use backup, but i havent used MIUI in forever and was coming from UD 3.1.1 so i didn't have any backups. normally market automatically downloads what i had before whenever i flash a new rom and that didn't happen when i flashed MIUI. Just wondering. This seems to be better than the last time i tried MIUI though.

No I'm not overclocked. I'm running stock kernell
Where do I find that slayer kernels

Just saying, with the stock launcher, overclocked to 1.1 ghz, this is the smoothest ROM I've ever run, and the battery life is great. Thanks dev(s) for all the work!

Okay, what's with MIUI closing out my browser? Anyone else have that happen or know why? It only happens when I visit full sites. Wouldn't be so bad if they didn't take so much longer to load everything. Had this issue for a while.

No browser shutdowns here. The 1.3.11 rom has been smooth sailing for me. No reboots, freezes, etc, just extemely stable using the stock kernel at 800.

This one is so good I'm going to hang on to the install zip as a possible candidate for a daily driver in case the jump to a GB base doesn't go so well. I've checked out all the GB roms out there and while some are better than others, I'm not sure the D1 is up to running it. I've had issues (albeit small) with all of them. Plus, the stock android OS just doesn't do it for me any more. Miui is in a class above imo and withing 2-3 days I'm back to it.

I'm certain I'll be running Miui until I retire my D1, which at the earliest won't be until Q4 this year.

Thanks again tp4bama for all your time and effort in getting Miui to us D1 owners.

Speaking of retiring the D1, what would be some reasons why anyone would want to retire their Droid? hmmm. Maybe I'll start a new thread asking that. Seems like to be a solid phone, and as long as the battery keeps working, and the processor doesn't melt because of my Overclocking obsession, I should be good to go for a few years.

1. 4G speed
2. Video chat in the palm of my hand.
3. 4" screen (no bigger than 4.3 tho)

Those are 3 reasons for me to eventually want to retire my OG Droid. But these 1st gen 4G phones are easy enough for me to pass up. By Q4/11 or Q1/12 I'm sure they'll be some bithcin' devices to be had. :)

Because it has pretty much no internal storage.

It is a solid phone. Only issue is it's underpowered compared to others out there, and software and OS's are being written for the new hardware.

As they say, software gets slower faster than hardware gets faster. Not necessarily true, but if you want to keep up with some of the goodies coming out, new hardware is the only way.

Even now, GB is pushing the little guy beyond its limits in some cases.
