New droid pro owner

I already rooted the phone, just unsure of how to install the GB.

Sent from my DROID PRO using Tapatalk

if you installed the stock GB update then you can't root the phone (yet), the only option I know of is to install the rooted GB update from teamblackhat.

I would recommend installing the stock GB first. Spend a little time getting use to the difference between your Blackberry and the Pro (Android experience). There are differences that take some time to discover and get use to. Then, when you feel comfortable that root is the way to go...go for it.

I'm in the same boat as tattooz here, I'll be getting my Droid pro soon so I'm preparing the first steps in terms of what apps to install, etc. Top of the list is of course the GB update.

Your advice sounds very good, at least that's what I think I'll do. Anyway, I don't think I'll need root access from day 1 ( maybe not even month 1 ), so I guess I could postpone the TBH for later.

By the way, when rooting the phone becomes a must ? On short term I'll probably be installing some web browsers, email clients, stuff like that, probably no need for backup apps in the beginning or anything too fancy.

Or are there things that one must do from the beginning ( don't know ... maybe certain customizations, or removing anything pre-installed, or ... ? ) to have a significantly improved usability of the Droid Pro ? Thanks in advance for any pointers, links, etc. I'm reading a lot of forums at the moment, but there's a lot of information and it's a bit confusing when you don't know exactly what to look for.

At the onset the droid pro was not in the best shape. However with the latest updates it has turned into quite a phone.

Now with gingerbread it has come from behind.
