I am thinking they are either in VZW stores or it is a hoax. I know a VZW store that has 2 X testers near me. Have not seen a clue pointing to anyplace near my location though.

Not to help the competition but the rules say that there will be an employee there with the certificate.

Yeah, but look at all the clues:

7:05 AM Jul 4th - Droid X designate #10 is in high heat, low humidity and pure processing power.
1:00 PM Jul 6th - Droid designate #10 has landed. This state is big enough for two Droid X phones. And their 4.3” screens.
5:14 PM Jul 6th - Droid designate #10 is here. City, we have a problem. Finding it.

Texas Droid Xs are Dallas and Houston. What other major city is there in Arizonia?
Plus, think of Apollo 13 and the famous line "Houston, we have a problem". Where NASA's space command is. The high heat/low humidity may actually mean a LOCATION in Houston.

I am getting the impression that these updates are most similar to paths travelled by the Droids...for instance, there was one that was spotted near I-80..then it was spotted near the Mall of America. The Mall of America in Minnesota is nowhere near I-80, but I-80 could be used to get to Minnesota.

So perhaps the Droid that you guys are following, which is now in Houston, was at one point in time travelling across Arizona or New Mexico.


Furthermore, the rules were released today, and these twitter clues indicated that the stores might be involved. I wish I would have known that there would be certificates for free phones and that the retail stores were not directly involved; I wouldn't have gone to my local VZW store and demanded a free Droid X. :blink:

How do we know when the "final clue" is released? It's useless to search unless we know its the last clue.

"Participants will have 4 hours from the time of the posting of the final clue to find the Certificate and once it is found, follow the instructions on the Certificate to claim their prizes, subject to verification."

Ooops I figured it out. "The final clue will be GPS coordinates of the certificates, and contestants will have four hours to retrieve the certificates."
Well I guess there will be more and more specific ideas of where they are and you just camp out near there?

Droid experts say some Droid X phones may still be moving. What they don’t know is who will find them.

So we don't even know if the clues so far mean anything. #5's clues first indicate it's most likely near Texas Motor Speedway but the second clue indicates downtown Dallas, 35 miles away from the speedway. Next clue may put it in another Texas city all together until it "lands".

well i can easily make a ride out to dallas and wander around the dealey plaza. never been there before and its only 20 minute away haha. but am i looking for a piece of paper? a person? a vzw store? would it still be there? Were these clues only good for a short time?
