New DroidForums App

How can I downgrade back to the old app? I wishing never upgraded. I hate the new look- its hard to find anything- it took me 5 mins to find this thread again since earlier and ads keep popping up on my screen- droidforums really sold out

APP BACKUP & RESTORE, must have App! You can backup to 10 previous versions at a time. Just go to setting and tailor it for yourself. Not sure where to get previous version but if u get this app you wont ever have to worry about again.

I have original app on my OG. I can do a quick backup, and PM you the .apk file.

Arg it isn't persistent on my bionic! I used to be able to type some of a post, go to the browser to do some googling, then come back to finish my post, but now if I exit the app even for a moment it reloads everything!

Discovered this the hard way, too. It deleted a good three paragraphs I had typed out grrrr!
Multitasking incompatibility is infuriating!

It takes a bit to figure out. You have to go to your Profile and press "Show Posts by User." Then find the thread that you want to look at. Not as easy as pressing "Participated" in the old app, I admit. At least with that you could tell right away if there was a reply. Ah well.

I don't see any ads; does anyone else?

Or go to the subscribed tab along the bottom and the threads you have participated in are listed in order of most recent posts. It is a little bit of an adjustment getting used to but does seem more convenient once you get used to it. One thing that I like is the subscribed tab also has a count of unread threads and easier yet because the threads with the most recent reply are listed first.

Good idea, but I never subscribe and didn't need to with the old app. I mean, why is "Participated" now "Started" and why is that so important and why is that action need to be duplicated?

Interesting; next to Subscribed is Favorites. I don't have any Favorites and it says, "You have no favorite forum. Browse to a forum and press Android Menu>Favorites." I do that and I don't see an option to create a favorite.

I may not be 100% correct, but I think that when you reply to a thread you are automatically "subscribed" to that thread. I know that I also want to refer back to threads of interest, so once in thread that I want to easily refer back to, I will go to the menu and select subscribe.

Nope, I did find one subscribed thread from 2010 when the OG Droid was going from Eclair to Froyo. Of course I may have turned that option off as I was tired of constantly getting notifications that someone posted on that thread.

Fwiw, all the threads I have participated in show up under subscribed tab. I am set to auto subscribe.

There are no ads. Clear cache/ data on the app and log back in....

I like this app. If I had to complain, I would rather see the original "jump to page" format. I don't like having to type the page #. Otherwise, lookin good!

Is there no more app notification system? I thought in the old one you could get a notification on your phone if someone posted to a subscribed thread?
