New features YOU want for Sapphire?

How about an option to mute media volume too when swyping the volume control thing on the lock screen? Sometimes i worry about accidentally having the camera button pressed in my pocket which would start playing my music lol. And even when i set my phone on vibrate, it doesn't silence the media volume.

Idk about this honestly. Maybe if it left alarms alone for those who used it, and it was an option in the gem settings to enable. Added to the op.

Yes thats what i mean: when you swype the control to the left, have it mute notification sound, ringer, plus media volume, while leaving alarm volume alone. Just a thought :) . Thanks.

Edit: and yes, just to have as an option that could be enabled or disabled.

How about a tweak or the sort where you could change the background for the lockscreen or some form of GUI where multiple lockscreens are loaded and could be changed?

the first part I understood, and already have it up there under my lockscreen mod idea, but the second part flew right over my head. Explain again please?

I would love to see integration of a backup and restore function of sys settings and apps. Overall, I wish all rom developers would go to a standardized system..Closest I have seen is the BB.5 restore function.

Id just be tickled if the app developers would store their settings in a centralized sub folder of the sdcard root. As it stands I get folders for apps that I just try and uninstall so have to remove them periodically and clean my card (ex. BW uses a data folder and application name within yet Titanium dumps a folder in the root be default.

Well, aside of backgrounds.. some like the standard lock some like the rotary.. why not have Gem Settings where you could choose one or the other and even maybe open a door for lockscreen customization. As you pointed out it seems already proposed..

Well, the rotary is already added. Will be in the next release. In my lockscreen mod idea it has a request for the d2/x lockscreen too. read up on it and comment on it with ideas you might like.

Simple interface so you could disguise the browser.. make it identify as Firefox or internet explorer..

I can't find the thread I posted this idea in earlier but Tank you should remember. Not everyone uses the default density (think display resolution). This means any application that uses absolute sizes and fixed sized images will not render correctly on such devices. The rotary lockscreen is a great example. With my density set to 200 the right side of he slider stops short of rendering all the way to the edge of the screen as expected.

There should be.an easy fix for this by replacing absolute positioning and sizes with relative positoning and sizes instead. I've already created this on BugZilla but just but just wanted to reinforce what I said earlier.

How about install via sbf? File could include all the FRG22D files plus the Sapphire mods. This could be the "Sapphire Un-brick Option!"

This way the developers could include one of the following for a boot logo :)

BTW: Thanks bhughesiii and lowboy for the awesome signature pics!

#5 on your list is already the most useful thing I can think of that's easy to implement. I prefer being able to easily tell my Droid that I want to close the current app, rather than it leaving it open and closing some other app that I intend on loading right back up.

Here's one that would fix one of my annoyances, but sounds difficult to implement: shake to rotate. I don't like the autorotate feature, but I also don't like having to use the keyboard to indicate manual rotation. I wish I could just shake the phone to have it rotate and stay in that position until I shake again (sliding keyboard out should still switch to landscape mode without needing a shake).

IMHO, one of the things I like the most about Sapphire, is that the Devs have not taken it overboard with all these added features. I tried UD, and felt they have just done too much.

K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid)

We start petitioning for all these added features and the stability of Sapphire will start to decrease. Why mess with a good thing. I would rather see improvements to what we all ready have. Perhaps a more robust Wifi and 3G receiver driver?
