New ICS Leak for Bionic

Yea I understand were the leak comes from, but where the confusion comes from is I thought once an Official OTA hit you, you were stuck on that OS. But you guys are able to go back to. 902 right now with the leak. That's why the question? Lol. Thanks

I think the only time we were ever really stuck was during all the different revisions of the 893 leaks. Eventually we got pathsaver for that. I guess no way to know but so far you can go to any version and get back out of any version of firmware ever seen for the bionic. I can't remember of any ota or leak that doesn't allow us to flash back someway or another.

That was a especially good leak for samuraiHL. Luckily i was a able to get him a early Christmas gift.

It was my own stupidity though. I had used the scary manual method of flashing the boot image and then in recovery I flashed the WRONG 5.5.893 update zip and managed to completely brick the phone. At that point the phone matched nothing and I was stuck until you released the RSD method that saved my butt. I was SO happy!

No question. Look at the methods we have now as a result of that experience. I know I learned a TON during that experience and I, like you, try to pass that on to others when I can. That's why I released that little script yesterday to help people move through the leaks without having to reinstall the world. This is one of the best communities I've been a part of. We are lucky and blessed.

Well said, I completely agree.

And your more a man than me. I was too scared to try dd'ing the boot image.

Well, I saw it as the only way to get back on the OTA path so I was willing to play. :) I was a bit more cautious when ICS leaked as I didn't want to go through that "fun" again. But yea, that was incredibly nerve wracking. "ok, DD this to your phone, reboot into recovery....note your phone will be soft bricked until the update applies." Yeaaaaa, that's fun. :D

Lol, I think I remember when all that happened when I was involved in a thread at RootzWiki. It had seemed that SamuriHL's Bionic was doomed.

It was. Even VZW looked at it and went "uh, NO. Here's a warranty claim have a nice day." But, timmy released his magic and I was able to recover it before I got the replacement phone. I was able to refuse delivery and send it right back to them unopened. Of course, that bionic WAS doomed a few weeks ago when the screen died. :(

Is anybody else having it issues using YouTube? I can get it to search videos, but when i play them they won't load up and the app will closed due to no response...same thing on the browser. I cant get any videos to play. If this keeps up i might have to get back to 905...lame!

Edit:
Had to do a restart my phone twice and then YouTube started to work properly. Strange....

Yeah sometimes the phone needs one or more restarts the let the kernel settle in. I see weird behavior all the time when flashing custom roms to different phones.
