I find it slightly intriguing and plan to look at it closer on the link. First, I already know a phonetic keyboard used on a stenographers stenoram from court reporting school, and a language for that keyboard too, I could shortcut a text before lol was created but people just didnt know the language....unless they had a form of therom that they had learned. Second, the reason for my not becoming a court reporter was tendonitis and even today it will flare for no reason and keboard strokes are small groans until it calms back down and passes. Its exciting if it can be processed by the hand, eye, and brain in unison. I am going to go take a look. I would think a programmer might be intrigued by it too. Who knows without at least trying.

Each bar you cross moves it one letter from the center. So for an 'o' you loop around the yellow bar. To get a 'u' go around crossing both the yellow and red bars. Not two loops, just one bigger loop.

I actually like this keyboard. You dont need to be able to see through your finger. You just need to memorize where the letters are. Takes a little time to learn Just like when you used a pc for the first time. I can see myself getting really fast typing this way

I am really glad also that people are being innovative, however it seems to me to be like science. To spell out a word, your finger has to move like 4 times as far as it does with something like swype.

But it all comes down to personal preference. For me, that personal preference has yet to be beaten by anything besides an iPhone keyboard (even though I would never buy one) I can just type really really fast on it, and it rarely makes mistakes.

I really like Swype for taking out the annoying tap tap on glass, but it makes too many mistakes for me to feel good about not proofreading what I wrote very closely. And error fixing is a pain.

So I am very glad to see this come out, and I am hopeful it will be easier to learn than the video seems to imply.

Regardless, I think I want to bone the narrator.

Second on all points.

I'm using it right now, learning positions sux but after a day I almost have it. I really like how easy it is to be precise with fat fingers . Also I use to much slang for predictions to work well.

I like it. It's a little confusing at first, but after playing with it for a while, I can see myself getting faster and more fluent once I memorize the layout. I also like the gesture function for putting in common words. Being not that great on a regular keyboard makes it a bit easier to pick up because of not having the learned behavior of the qwerty. I do think they should have had a free trial though.

I think where this really shines, is if you memorize the letters like most of us already have with the QWERTY keyboards, we can type without looking. You can make the center dot larger, and just know where it is. With the on screen qwerty keyboard and swype, you still need to be precise.

Typing on the road without looking at your phone. That is where I see this going. Where texting while driving is not safe, it's MUCH worse when you have to look at your phone. So 8pen is safer than normal touchscreen typing.

I was using it for about an hour last night, and I really like it. Very steep learning curve, but it's all about memorizing where the letters are. I'm not going to return it.

It costs less than a freaking cup of coffee people. I think I can spare the $1.58.

I use a slider keypad and text with 1 thumb while driving without looking. No biggie once you acclimate. With my old 9400 I was used to doing it with buttons. Not lifting your finger when moving isn't hard to learn along with qwerty in portrait when sliding.
I'd try this app if it had a 5 day trial. No way I can decide in 24 hours. The cost isn't high but it's the principle

Oops, correction, that should have been the yellow and green bars. For the record, this is one of the mistakes I've been making most often when practicing.

i dunno i kinda like it.. once i memize where all the letters are i think it will be alot easier.. i like the idea of having just a dot as a point of reference and thats all on the screen

I'm getting better. Still not as fast as I can go on a QWERTY keyboard, or even Graffiti for that matter. I've just about got the main layout memorised, but I'm getting pretty sick of that quick brown fox jumping over the lazy dog.
