New Launcher : ADW

How do we get rid of the RC installations? Apparently, the market version is a standalone compared to the RC installations that replaced the Home launcher.

You would have to remove the Launcher.apk from the system/app/ directory. The old Adw over writes it.

One great benefit I have received from using the RC version of ADW is my contact info now displays immediately when I get a phone call. With all of the other home replacments I have tried, Home++, Helix 1, LauncherPro there was always a several second lag before my contact info would display when I got a call. The only other home that did not have the lag was the stock home. My theory was that the ADW RC did not have this issue because it replaced the stock home.

Has anyone who installed the official release from the market noticed if there is any lag displaying contact info on incoming calls?

But what I want to do is restore the old one, not just remove Launcher.apk because it apparently just gets rid of the Home launcher altogether.

Edit: I'm also having an issue with Audio Profiles. I can't seem to create a shortcut on ADW. Instead, it creates a shortcut on my other launchers...it's really annoying. :\

I used to use Home++, switched to ADW .7 standalone and there is still several seconds delay on displaying contact info on incoming calls.

Also, can someone explain to me what the overshoot option is? I still can't figure it out.

Overshoot is the part at the end of the home screens (first/last) where it looks like it's gonna goto the next screen but it doesn't. So if you have 0 overshoot, then it doesn't move at all. If you have it at 100, then the over shoot goes like a little bit less than half.

I can't save Profiles from Audio Manager Pro to home screen with ADW. Does anyone else use AMP and have this problem? Is there a solution? Thanks!

It's also how much of a "bounce back" effect you get when flicking through screens. It's more apparent in slower "fling" speeds, e.g., 750 than faster ones. I have might set to 100 and can't really tell since it goes so fast lol. The dev's favorite setting is 750 for the fling speed, and 40 for the overshoot (he posted in it his twitter) but that was too slow for me lol (it was smooth though).

I assume you are referring to 0.7 final that's on the market and not one of the 0.7x release candidates that install over the stock home... if so that stinks. It looks like all of the home replacements that do not actually replace the stock home have the built in screen delay when contacts call.

Looks like I will stick to my non-market version of ADW on my rooted droid which has its drawbacks as it looks like anderweb is only releasing ADW updates to the market now.

I've tried both and decided to stick with rc3 rather than the market version. With the same settings on both, rc3 flings thru everything with lightning speeds... not so much with the standalone though :/ (there is noticeable lag on it considering i use low fling speeds)
