I love my Thunderbolt! If you like the droid better then why not at least use your upgrade for a Droid 3?

Nothing's going to ship with vanilla Android anymore (except Nexus variants), so just make sure whatever you want to upgrade to can be easily rooted and CM or other AOSP ROMs installed.
