New Unlimited Plan from Big Red?

I never told them I received an email, I just flat out told them I saw a promotion posted on a forum online. She was happy to get me signed up. I did call the # posted on the flyer though.

I'm wondering if some of these people did receive an e-mail and just never knew it or deleted it thinking it was spam. Did she say she was checking something before she said it was ok? I'll have to give them yet another call.

I called back yet another time, spoke with someone different and this time when she asked if I was calling about a deal e-mailed or sent via text message, I said I saw an advertisement posted online for the unlimited data/text/m2m/450 for $69.99. She then said that was a promotion they recently had, but was only for a select group. I then said that it didn't say anywhere on the advertisement that it was only valid for people who received that via e-mail, and after checking my account she said there was nothing she could do. I pointed out that on a forum online there have been several other people who were able to get this applied even though they never received it via E-Mail, but no go. She said that since I have a Droid if this deal comes back I would be notified.

I don't get how some people get it and others don't.

You could be right, my email wasn't the email Verizon had on file, it was my mothers. I don't live with her but we're all on the family share plan. She's not exactly tech-savvy so it's very possible she missed the email, although I did call her and ask her to look for it in her inbox, she said there was nothing there. We just added two Droid 2's to the plan about a month ago, so maybe thats why we didn't get an email, since no lines had a smartphone activated.

In response to the phone call I made to Verizon, she never put me on hold, nor was there a long pause where I think she would have been searching for eligibility. I mentioned the date the flyer was posted to the forum and told her no one ever told me about this promotion when I purchased my Droid 2's, but that I was interested.

Called today and told them i saw the promotion as well (no mention of me personally getting it in an email), switched to the family plan and kept my corporate discount. Have more minutes, friends and family and am paying $25-$30 less on average per month (figured based on not going over in minutes) but am saving about $70 each month for the 3 or 4 months out of the year that i would go over. With the friends and family numbers added now, no way i can possibly go over. Great promotion for my situation for sure

Maybe long-term loyalty with vzw plays a part here? I know back when the d1 came out I had JUST upgraded to the bb curve yet my husband was able to get us both early upgrades at 2 year discount just BC he's been a customer since before the company was Verizon ... ijs ...

I know right. Although Verizons plan is superior for people like me that are the third line of a family plan and have a smartphone and a text package that costs me about $54/month. With this plan it would save me $34/month and give me unlimited text(I was using the 200 texts/month package for $5, which I almost always went over). My parents will not get this plan for the sole reason that I am the only one with a smartphone.

I tried Sprint for a month because they were cheaper and there unlimited plan is as follows, for one line/month: Unlimited Text, Unlimited Mobile to Mobile Talk to Anyone on Any Network, Unlimited Data, and 450 minutes of talk to land lines(which most people probably won't ever use). Also if you get a 4G device you have to pay $10/month even if you don't live in a 4G network area.

Verizons unlimited plan in this thread is for one line/month: Unlimited Text to Anyone on Any Network, Unlimited Verizon to Verizon Talk (Which everyone on Verizon already has!), Unlimited Data, and 450 minutes of talk to land lines and everyone that is not on Verizons network. This dose not include unlimited Mobile to Mobile on any Network like Sprint. So if you are calling out of network then those minutes go against your 450 for the month.

This is the fourth time I've called now, every time I try and say something different but in every case they have said that this was a limited promotion and that my account is not eligible for this promotion.

I guess I'm just not as lucky as everyone else :/

Hey thanks i called back a second time and as soon as they said I wasn't eligible I called their bluff and said "fine transfer me to who ever I need to speak with to pay my early termination fee" and then he said "Ok I can give you this plan if you're going to terminate"

So now i have the family share plan and i kept my acct suspended I was trying T-mobile G2 (great phone) out but T-Mobile service is HORRIBLE I had no service above ground outside Penn Station NYC by my office where T-mobile sponsors the Knicks 34th Street and 8th Ave there is NO REASON ON EARTH this high traffic area should be a dead spot EVERYDAY!

Can't wait to reactivate my Droid now I'm just not sure if I should wait till some LTE phones come out or get Droid 2 World Edition

I stopped in the Verizon Kiosk at the Mall yesterday and asked the guy there if I was eligible. He said because I have a smartphone and require unlimited data that I have to purchase the $30 data plan so I am NOT able to switch? Now I thought this was a crock based on what I have read in this thread. I haven't had a chance to call Verizon 800 number to see what they said. Anyone else have the same issue I had?

Verizon kiosk won't help you call the number and ask.
