New Update

Wednesday I walk into the Verizon store to look at some accessories and never before has this ever happened but my Thunderbolt reset itself, then it lagged on response for a few minutes.... After that it did it only 1 more time.... Well the update we got only fixed some minor performance issues with the gps response and messaging, had nothing to do with the batteries life performance, it actually killed about 40% of my battery with its firmware update and of course it had nothing to do 4G. I'm still waiting for the netflix to start working, I really hate how our providers and Google toy with us. They can't just give everyone the updates they have to toy with us and lead us on constantly. At least with Apple a download update is available for everyone at the same time. Oh ya also from what Verizon told me... There is a bigger chance we get the ice cream sandwich before the gingerbread in 4Q.

Contrary to other posters comments, my battery is showing a major improvement. Prior to the update, if it was unplugged overnight the battery would be completely drained in the morning. This morning it dropped only 11% overnight. I have not had any reboots.

I have seen a very noticible improvement in battery life. That's good. I saw a real serious stability issue in 4g yesterday afternoon. It would lock into 4g, workfor a few minutes then tell be it could not connect. Re-booted a number of times. it still behaved the same. Then I left the office, came home to my 3g area, through "phone info" i set it to 3g only, it has been rock solid since!? I'll have to see when it runs in 4g again.

Huge improvement in battery life so far. With my typical use, I have lost only 4% in 5 hours after I updated. Yesterday I lost 20% over that same time (and that was after I rebooted due to a heavy battery drain).

Placebo effect.

This may be true. I didn't see anything in the Update description that referred to improving the battery life. However, I'm wondering if the battery life will be improved for those in 1X/3G areas, with the 3G update. I'm in a 4G area, so I won't be able to check the 3G out for the next few days.

Both my brother and I noticed better battery life since when 4g goes down it no longer keeps trying to connect to it but now goes right to 3g. I also noticed now I can get a 4g signal at work where before I never could.

Still however 4g will suck the battery so we both locked ours at 3g and can easily get 15+ hours and have 50% battery left with moderate use.

I noticed a better battery and 4G connection before I updated. I can actually watch Youtube at work on 4G where I could rarely get it on 3G before. Since I've updated there has been no problems or random reboots and is running perfectly.
