Had a look at Lollipop 5.0 on a Samsung Galaxy S5 today.
It's not like Lollipop on my Nexus 6, there's no double pull down and most of the KitKat features of my Note4 are still there.
It's more like a halfway house between KitKat on my Note4 and 5.0.1 on my Nexus 6.
Apparently the owner downloaded the update 4 days ago, do where is my update for the Note4 Samsung???

Samsung does not roll out the updates, but the carrier you are with, this has been discussed to nauseum in this forum, it applies to every phone from every manufacturer.
Note 4's update is rumored to be held up because of the Gear VR software. It's not playing well with lollipop apparently.
Not sure if they're tweaking the lollipop update our the vr software, but I've read that Samsung is working with Oculus Rift to fix the situation before updating the Note 4.
@luddite keep in mind that the Note 4 was released months after the S5. Couple that with the issues Jonny mentioned and it may still be a couple months until you get the lollipops.
Hang in there, it shouldn't be too much longer.

So my original premise that Samsung are responsible for the updates is correct, notwithstanding that the network operators actually distribute them ???
The manufacturer, in this case Samsung, distributes the update after adding their "unique portion" to the carriers who add their "unique portion" then approve it for distribution by the carrier then it is sent out by the carrier.
As Jonny wrote , part of the unique portion Samsung added is the rumored hold up with the Note4.
I always buy sim free so I can use any of my phones with any of my sim cards.
According to the above my update depends on which sim card I happen to be using when I update??!
Ps, I have Orange, Virgin, three, Vodafone Giffgaff and Vectone.
Which one gives me the best chance???
The specification for Note 4 is better than Nexus 6. Processor is 8-core, 1900 MHz, ARM Cortex-A57 and ARM Cortex-A53 whereas Nexus 6 features quad core processor. Plus it can add extendable storage memory for microSDXC up to 128 GB. So I prefer to go with Note-4.
