Note 7 banned from planes by the Feds.

Funny, the problem is not when they are being used, but when they are being charged, which causes then to overheat and batteries to go into thermal runaway. Telling them to turn them off is really excessive.
Shows the intelligence level of the people who make some rules and laws. Understand what you're talking about before saying all Note 7s will explode if you look at them.

What part of TSA isn't whacked? They are wrought with flaws and corruption. Should be completely replaced.
Typical government waste and incompetence. Now, as for Note 7...my thoughts first when I heard about the exploding battery issue, what happens if one of those things were to catch fire on a flight over the ocean with 400 people on board?? I would be really concerned about overheating phones. I tried to plug in my Droid Turbo on a flight back from LA in June using the USB port in my seat. Phone got really hot after 15 minutes, so I disconnected it. Was not comfortable charging it when it got to such a high temperature after such a short period of time.

That's why you carry a battery brick. No worry about an AC converter shorting your device out midflight.

Forget about device shorting out, I'm more worried about thermal runaway, as those things can get up to 150 degrees. I'm more worried about a potentially deadly aircraft accident waiting to happen. Just think about how many devices people bring being onboard powered by lithium ion cells.

You are? I'm more afraid of the old lady texting driving next to me.

Phones turn off when they hit a threshold.
