[Odin] Full EB01 Froyo leak, packaged ROMs w/root and new clockwork **UPDATED**2/11

Yeah that's kind of what I figured too. I have tried restarting and uninstalling and reinstalling and nothing works, but I have had a few of my apps not work correctly after I installed them from the market place so maybe I had a bad install from Odin and its causing issues. I'm just going to restore to stock and then reflash the file and start over. Thanks for the help

Anyone else having an issue with the update.zip file in the original post. When I download our from megaupload the file size its only 21kb not the 1.3mb that it should and attempting to flash the update.zip it said bad signature. Any ideas our different sources for the file?

Is there a walk-through on how to backup data? Every post starts with please be warned and backup and data. I have searched high and low with no results in how to backup data. I have tried the google thing for contacts and cannot get my google account to recognize my contacts. Any ideas?

Your contacts should be automatically updated and cloud synced when you enter them on the phone...other wise use the backup assistant that comes on the phone and it will sync the contacts as well, you create a PIN and when you flash a new Rom you enter your PIN and it will resync your contacts etc for you...
For apps/data use Titanium backup, personally I purchased the full version because i use it every couple days...it will backup all apps/data etc and has tons of options....and always make a nandroid backup in CWMR before flashing new stuff in case it breaks and you have to restore

I have used the Verizon Backup Assistant from day one since that is the method I used to port over my contacts from my previous phone. Does the VZW Backup Assistant work with the different ROMS (Ie....stock EB01, SuperClean, Debloated/Deodexed)? Can you also shed some light on how to get back to this original EA28 ROM if I ever need to. I found a version of SuperOneClick that seems to give me root access. I am struggling from there to get CWM so i can backup my ROM. Once I get a backup of the original then I would like to get rid of it all and go with one of the EB01 roms. Sorry for all the questions. I have spent two weeks reading and am still confused by this all. I guess I am just wanting the original backup just in case so I can have an out.

yes backup assistant is usually included in custom Roms, SuperClean does include it....

since your rooted this is the easiest recovery method you can do to make a backup of your current Rom... Clockworkmod installation how to for windows / *nix - xda-developers

after that is done reboot recovery and make a backup then follow this threads walkthrough and ODIN the SuperClean v2.4 file...it includes EB01 SC v2.4 ROM, EB01 modem, EB01 kernel and new modded custom red CWM recovery needed for FROYO builds on our phone....All you have to do is follow the directions and you will be ok...

As far as going back to your backup goes, personally i wouldnt even bother with it as Froyo is what you should be running anyway...but....if you feel the need to revert back to 2.1 the easiest way will be to follow one of these threads instructions to ODIN restore to 2.1 and you will be prompted to update to EA28 shortly after reboot....(I suggest this because the 2.1 CWMrecovery is different from the 2.2 modded CWMrecovery and your cant restore one in the other, Hence the need to ODIN restore to 2.1 if needed)

Still not working. Downloading from my phone but I've never had an issue with megaupload. Hmm I guess ill have to wait until I get home. Weird cause I downloaded the odin last night with no issues

I just did this with my Wifes phone. her contact synced back up once I logged into her Gmail, but I had to re-download all of the apps manually.
