"Official" Beautiful Widgets Skinning Thread

Just to chime in, Go Gators! I graduate in May :D

looking good! Be careful of the bottom though, are you going to clean it up?

Another Gator Fan :icon_ banana: ....

Yes im still cleaning it up. lol...

Tell me which ones you guys like better. I can change the fonts too, and/or get rid of the black bars, and/or change the colors of the hours/minutes background...

Thanks

I think I like the left one better (no white background). I would get rid of the black bars though. The only thing that looks a LITTLE weird is how the white blends into the facemask on the helmet. Maybe outline the letters in a thin black shadow instead of the shadow only going one direction? Not sure though, that might look cheesy.

Hi Guys,

Decided to make an even more realistic version of HTC Sense FlipClock since everyone seems to want that.

Luckily my wife has a Droid Eris with Sense UI so I have access to the internal apps/images of the real Sense Flipclock. Plus I could compare my results with her phone side by side.

Using the image files as a template and having them on the screen beside my created images I was able to recreate almost exactly the Sense Flipclock elements. The only differences are the sizes of some of the elements due to the layout/format of BW's positioning of the various elements such as wider digit placement etc..

Here is the actual Screen Preview I found within the HTC clock apk.

Next is the version I made for BW.

While I was at it I made a "Semi-Naked" version without the background as I have seen some requests for that.

I haven't had time to make the Landscape Versions or the Smaller Home versions yet. I wanted to gauge interest before spending the time to make those.

If anyone wants just the Home Version in portrait only I can post the zip files now. Just let me know.

I kinda like the left one also the white one is a little hard to read. I liked your old font too since it makes more sense for football I think lol! Looking good!

Looks really good! Be careful with edges though it's not as "rounded" as the original other than it looks pretty convincing!

I really like what you did. When you post the Semi-Naked version I would be interested! Thanks

^ from your preview pics...it looks pixelated. I used super high res images from the HTC HD2's clock to create my version, not a single pixel or jaggy in it.

Going thru the actual steps of real screen captures, then reducing the size to 300 width, then uploading/attaching here on this system has a little to do with what you are talking about. Take a look at the screen capture of my version(left) and a screen capture of your version (right). Neither are a true representation of how they look in person....and both suffer from the same pixelation in these "previews". If they were on my server(not resized, uploaded and attached here) in the original size and resolution they both look great and not pixelated like they are below!

BTW, since we are trading constructive feedback, take close look at your SenseUI(on the right), the "lines" on the digits are not the same color/shading as the background and this reduces the realism of the clock.

Here is a closeup of the digits so you can see more of what I m talking about with the "line" shading differential, not sure if this is intentional of not.

you are absolutely correct, and a good eye! I noticed that, but never uploaded the fixed version...haha it bothered me too!

SenseUI.zip
:)

Well Im gonna try it in the morning when I wake up. If nothing changes should I ask for a refund and then re-purchase and install or is there some more tricks I can try?

Thanks for doing the NakedSenseUI, looking forward to installing it!

Here you go, you can use these for now until I get the Landscape and Smaller Home versions done.

Just so it is clear this is just the "normal" 4x2 "Beautiful Home" with no Landscape version.

EDIT: Smaller Home and Landscape Versions are now done.
