"Official" Beautiful Widgets Skinning Thread

Hi there.

My first post so please forgive me if I've missed something glaringly obvious in the preceding 132 pages but how do I go about assigning a custom png image to one of the beautiful widgets e.g. Beautiful Wi Fi?

You can't. You can make skins for the weather apps, both large and small, and change the weather icon.
So far, I don't think the developer has looked into modifying the smaller icons that aren't the weather home. They look pretty good and I don't think anybody is really looking to skin those too.

If Tama does decide to add support for the widgets, odds are it would be similar to the weather icons. And the place to go for how to change them would be here.
But no dice yet, sorry.

Is there a Beautiful Widgets skin that looks like a scoreboard? It's almost football time and I would LOVE to see a scoreboard-like skin with the bubble lights for the time (maybe not in red like this one).

I'm not a football fan but that would look cool, you could also have some sort of weather that uses the dots and it would match

I got a small issue with the htc desire skin for beautiful widgets. I fixed the problem with the 3 on my own since it was just a simple rename. But I looked closer and it and realized the fold/crease on the letters does not match up with the black line . I'll post a ss so it makes more sense (<<--- get it cuz its htc's... nvm)

I was thinking I could simply edit it w/ like photoshop/gimp to add a few more transparent pixels to the top of the numbers png files, and possible remove the same amount from the bottom. So the file stays the same size but the lines match up properly?

Does anybody else have a serious problem with Beautiful Widgets eating your battery life like crazy? After almost 7 hours I'm at less than 30% and BW accounts for 90% of my battery usage. Anybody else?

My buddy has the HD2 and I love his clock compared to mine. I dig how the flaps just fold over like an old time clock. Are there any skinzs that do this with beautiful widgits? I looked at bunch but could not find one.

I downloaded the dev kit and am working on a scoreboard clock like I referenced above. But, I cannot get the custom skin to show up in the list of installed skins so I can try it. Am I missing something? I added the nomedia file, a txt file with information, all numbers, backgrounds, etc in png format, as well as a screenshot jpg. Yet I still cannot get them to show up...

Yes, I sure did. I can list the entire contents. Doesn't make sense. I even restarted the phone...

Do the numbers always appear in the same location? Is there any way to move them down? I am on an Incredible (non-rooted, so I cannot take screen shots), but the numbers are too high.

Essentially I created a background similar to a scoreboard and placed a box around where the time will be to simulate the time box of a scoreboard. But, the numbers are touching the box on the top and are too high. Can I adjust the position of them or will they always be placed on the same coordinates?

I thought I might could play with the height of the png images, but when I got to looking at the png files of other skins I noticed that they are always cropped very tightly to the digits.

Perhaps modify the clock digit images, I.e., reduce the size of the digits on its canvas a bit, then reposition them on the canvas. Just be sure to keep the actual image size within limits (i think there are dimension constraints on clock digit pngs not sure tho, I've only skinned weather icons thus far. Gl man.
