"Official"? Bionic battery life thread

Full days push all the time seeing I work ER hours. Unplugged this morning after 5 minutes already down to 92%. That's wrong! Seriously what the heck. Only widgets beautiful weather, circle battery, and agenda widget

This may be an insanely stupid question, but I'm having battery issues too and just looking for any reason why....is it bad if i plug in my phone before i go to bed and don't unplug it until the morning, which is likely several hours after it's reached full charge?

Leaving your phone plugged in after it has reached full charge will not harm the battery. The phone is able to read when the battery is full and stop charging the battery.

OK, thanks. I thought that was the case, but I'm really struggling to understand why the battery depletes so fast. I'm really not willing to tinker with my settings too much. I'm someone who expects the phone to operate the way I need it to, otherwise I will get a different phone....that said, I don't run very many things.I leave bluetooth on all the time and I leave 4G on all the time. Otherwise, I don't really have too much going on and the battery just doesn't cut it.

Unplugged it yesterday afternoon around 7pm @ 90%. Went out for the night and at 3am had to have a friend call me a cab because the phone was done....maybe this isn't so bad, but I'm coming from an iPhone and it's tough to swallow the idea that my phone won't make it through the night.

Been going through my initial drain/charge cycles. The battery life seems to improve each time. Got 60% left after 4ish hours. Not really banging away on it. I am in a 4G area and have normal push going on. I can't complain about that too much.

drain/fill is the way to go with these batteries IMO.
you need to fully discharge the battery .. until the phone shuts off.. then pull the battery and THEN you can charge it to 100%. do this a few days in a row and the battery should treat you much better.

also, make sure apps such as SKYPE are killed when you're not using them.. they constantly poll LTE which eats battery life

Wow I have been reading this thread, alot of hit and miss with battery life. I guess Im lucky, no 4g moderate use on standerd battery got me 10hrs with 30% left
and with my extended Im at 9hrs right now with 80% of light use today with wifi on bluetooth off.

36 hours since I pulled the phone off the charger and my extended battery is at 1%.
Last time I was at 1% it took 3 hours and it STILL wouldnt shut down. LOL
but that was the day I got it and it wasnt fully charged so.. *shrugs*

It should shut down within the next 30 mins or so.. I still need to test how long a full charge takes.

OK Guys.
Looks like my "standardized settings" list didn't go over too well - seems everyone want answers but no one wants to do any work.

So, here's an update for all of you:

After my last post (you'll need to go back a couple pages), I said I was going to install JD/UJ and compare to the previous stats.
I just now passed my previous mark of 1 day 5 hours and I still have 60% battery remaining.

This is without doing ANY tweaking of JD/UJ at all... just selected BALANCED and I'm *very* impressed! Same usage, same phone settings and more than TWICE the battery left after the same amount of time to discharge from before installing and using JD/UD.

So, it appears that UltimateJuice/JuiceDefender plays *really* well with the Bionic.

Now I'm more comfortable with my Bionic, closer to where I was with my D1... I occasionally got 3 full days out of a single charge on that phone running at 1.25GHz with specific settings and the same usage. It's getting closer and closer to those magic numbers for me.

JuiceDefender DOES work wonders on our Bionic phones!!!

As for the standardized settings thing, it's not important enough to me to help everyone else if they don't want help. If EVERYONE had a single template to post their own settings in, we'd all be comparing properly, but apparently no one wants to take over where I left off, so I'll just end my post by saying that I tried to help...

Got 28hrs 15min on stock rom and stock battery with 4G on and Juice Defender set to extreme.

I mean, that seems great....I downloaded juice defender and my Bionic just drained two seconds ago. Now it's time to plug it in, go to bed, turn on Juice Defender in the morning and see what happens.

I don't have 4G in my area. Will be a while til I get it. But I leave my Bionic on CDMA (or 3G) only. I have have Battery settings at Max saver. Disables ALL data when phone display is off. I've yet to see the battery get to lower than 30% from a full charge. For people in 4G/LTE areas. Just enable 4G ONLY as you need it. No need to have it on all the time wasting battery if you are just checking e-mail or browsing the web.
Even music/radio streaming can be done well on 3G. Then your battery should last a long time.
