"Official"? Bionic battery life thread

I cant figure it out. I swapped outmy phone and battery. I have the ext battery and am getting 7-8 hours if that with light usage. I got a new phone 2 days ago and fullyncharged it from zero 2x now. I am in 3 g area and have 4g off. Wifi off bluetooth off. Nothing is set to sync. I do not even have facebook or those other apps. I took the phone off the charge 4 hrs ago with ext battery in am at 60%. Barely used the thing. The battery.is.just draining. Maybe i should swap the phone out at a different store ordrr one from verizon 611

my stock battery has been lasting WAY longer than the eris, OG droid, DX2, and D3. i've had them all and the bionic is smashing them all. im not in a 4g area so i leave that turned off.

Yesterday was my first day on the extended battery.
I couldnt drain it fully wednesday night.. it went down to 1% and stayed there for 3 hours... even with streaming video, Angry Birds and benchmarks.. I couldnt kill it. Which bothered me a bit. I wanted to do a full drain/fill cycle.

However, yesterday I pulled the phone off the charger at 9:30am. At 6:30am when I put it back on the charge it had 33% remaining. I am in a LTE area and did quite a bit of web browsing, texting and made some calls during the day.

The extended battery is impressive for me compared to the stock battery. I'm happy as long as I can consistantly go from wake up to sleep time without needing to tether to a charger.

I am using the standard battery and I did the drain/fill twice already, and I can only get 6-7 hours out of the phone. I play word with friends a lot but my battery seems to go down quicker than everyone else's. For example this morning I played some WWF for 10 mins and did some light browsing and my battery was down to 80% in 25 mins. I tried to go to the verizon stores near me but they are all sold out of the extended battery.

I have data turned off and Ive checked with the task killer the phone came with and I have certain apps to shutdown after 2 mins once the screen goes off. So I don't know what's up with the battery or phone.

Order the extended battery online.
Or go back into the store and have them order it and have it shipped to your house.

I don't get why everyone is so mad that phone idle and cell standby are taking up so much of the battery? The percentages on that screen adds up to 100%, so if you are not using it constantly wouldn't you want to see that it had been idle?

I agree with this. Not to mention on most phones those two are often at the top of the list.

Also, yeah yeah I made a thread about this, but I want to ask in here since there's a lot of new posters who might not browse much.....if you have the ext battery, did you have a case before? Did it fit after?

Hit 34.5 hours on the extended battery when I hit 5%. That's with moderate usage throughout the day, turning off 4G when idling and 7.5 hours of non-use while sleeping. First full charge cycle too. The extended battery kicks ass, makes me love this phone more.

I have the extended battery and thus far have only put the phone through light or light/moderate use - nothing too heavy.

The phone has lasted my whole day every day with no issues so far and I have never actually fully drained it.
Tomorrow I will see what I can do by streaming some music/video at the end of the day to try and run it completely dead.

Overall - I am very happy and impressed with the phone and the battery use.
I'm thinking about picking up a second extended batter because I usually have battery issues by the time the end of the 2nd year rolls around.

I am using my Bionic (w/ standard battery) heavily during the day and when I go to bed at night, I have 50% remaining on my battery widget. I am not connected to 4g (our area does not have it at all), so I am sure this is a big reason as to why I have so much remaining, but I am happy with it. I wish I had 4g, but I do have good 3g coverage. Can't have it all Not yet anyway.

Debating the same.... bad cell reception at work 0-1 bars + 4g almost all the time kills even the extended... 6.5 hrs with 2.5hrs screen on time and I have 30% left

Still better than my d1 or dx... id be charging long ago... the 4g gets me internet where those phones didnt
