"Official"? Bionic battery life thread

Where did you get this battery? Did VZ have it or did you have to order it off the internet?

The extended battery is being carried by Verizon. Since Verizon is currently running a promo where they are selling LTE phone extended batteries for 50% off, your store may be out of stock on them. However, they can order it and ship it to you (had to do this for my son's Bionic, the store had more Bionics in stock than they had extended batteries).

My battery life is horrible! I expected much better. All well still love the phone

Sent from my DROID BIONIC using DroidForums

Drain and Fill has worked wonders for my battery life
I drained the battery all the way to 0% (phone shutoff) - battery pull and press power button for at least 10 secs
Plug in and let the phone charge to 100%.

Do this 2 times and you should see better battery life.

Another thing I found is that Skype running in the background will KILL your battery because it's constantly using the LTE radio even if you're not using it if you're logged in.

One more report : Got the phone Saturday afternoon, nothing really interesting to report other than I drained it almost to phone shut off.

Day 2: Sunday. Off charger at 6:30AM. Traveling most of the day to and from my daughters soccer game. In and out of 4G service areas. Display on MOST of the time. Using browser extensively, google maps, camera, facebook, email, and LOTS of text. Battery was at 20% at 6.5 hours, by 7 hours it was nearly dead, back on charger just before phone shut off.

Not the greatest life, but it was pretty heavy usage, will see how it behaves this week (will be in 4G Monday - Thursday). If I cant get a full day out of it with my "normal" usage (NOT what I did yesterday), Ill have to pick up an extended life battery.

Today will not be a good test as it has been on the USB cable for a while this morning migrating stuff from the old OG droid.

Order the extended battery today.. it's 25% off on VZW.com so only $25 rather than $50

Not seeing a discount on vzv website anywhere. Anyhow 25$ instead of 50$ is 50% off.

EDIT: I wasn't signed in there is indeed a 25% discount but that doesn't make it $25. There is also free 2 day shipping.

I've been on my phone a lot today and I'm at 80%. Took it off the charger at 8am and it's 3:25pm now. Been on wi fi at the house all day, but I was following twitter(it's the best for fantasy football as far as finding out who's playing or not). Been off and on checking fantasy scores, sending texts, surfing the web when I'm not at my computer. I can tell you that after each night on the charger, the battery lasts longer and longer. I have no complaints about the battery life at all. I don't get a 4g signal at home, but I do at work, and yes, I do find it uses more battery on 4g. But, overall, I have no complaints.

I'm only getting 7-8 hrs or regular use... is that normal? It's not even close to what I have been seeing in reviews. I'm extremely disappointed.

I've has my phone for 4 days now. Battery life has not improved much. I am on the 4g fringe but haven't crossed over into 4g territory in 3 days. I use a task killer and have not installed too many apps. I do light text messaging, a phew quick calls, and a browser page or 2. Im still only getting about 6 hours. I ordered the extended battery today hopefully that will better suit my needs.

When you add it to your cart, it will show at $25 instead of $50 (and it is notated as "new discount"). The 25% discount is probably your normal corporate discount on accessories (assuming you have a corporate discount on your line). Also you should note that the 50% off on LTE extended batteries will not work with your corporate discount on accessories (you cannot get both).

First off, kill your task killer. It's doing you more harm than good.
On an D1 I could understand people using them to free up RAM. But on the Bionic they're not helping you at all.

Second. Use the Task Manager (stock) app in the drawer and make note of whats running .. even if it says 0CPU. If theres anything in the background that could use data kill it if you're not using it.

Bought the ext battery yesterday and charged it overnight. It's been off charge for over 9 hours and is on 60%. 4G has been on the whole time but WiFi and bluetooth are off. Been used moderately, a couple of calls, texts, some browsing and messing about.
