So I am noticing that my Google Voice messages won't come across until I actually go into the app itself now, no notifications and even then they are lagged in time sent.
Anyone else having these issues? Seems coincidental it is happening right after installing Froyo.
Not sure I understand. The only notification I set-up for google voice is it goes to my gmail. Just got one and my GMAIL notification popped into the status bar. It's almost instantaneous. Not sure why anyone would use a different notification feature.
That is actually a good idea, I'll just have the Google Voice messages forwarded to my GMail for now to tip me off. I don't do a lot of texting so I like to keep them threaded within the app.
This newer leak of Froyo isn't jiving well with my Droid - The Marketplace is a mess (Even after the fix update.zip). :/
For me I like it better than better cut. It does take a bit to figure it out. I believe it does work on froyo. Don't quote me on this yet. I'll mess with it when I wake up to be sure then ill edit my post
Google Voice has its own notifications for voicemail, SMS. It's nice to have a different ringtone for texts and voicemails vs emails. It's also nice to have a notification that tapping on will direct you straight to the google voice app, rather than an email. The original leaked froyo delayed those notifications for some reason, but the updated one does not have that problem.
It's personal preference. I have a 4x4 Pure Messenger widget (really more like 3x3.5) that lists all unread Gmail, Corp mail and SMS (as well as Twitter and Facebook, if you so choose). It updates as received and I can view the widget with one click. To top it all off, I'm using Google Voice for voicemail, and it sends me a notification to Gmail which hits Pure Messenger widget as well (would REALLY be cool if the transcription service worked better, sometimes you can get the gist of it and sometimes it's completely muddled). Perfect solution for me.
You can still have the notifications, or you can have a notification just from the widget. Not sure if you can differentiate between incoming messages, but from my perspective you have everything coming into one place.
i'm assuming you mean through astro? I had that problem, i ended up just using astro to navigate to /mnt/sdcard/backups and then manually installing what was there.
I only needed to do this for the apps that weren't in the market however as android was smart enough to redownload everything I already had on it.
