Official Broken Apps thread for Froyo

well if maps is working for some and not others (i JUST loaded froyo, still syncing, and it said maps installation was unsuccessful), theoretically those that do work could post their maps.apk (or whatever the filename is) and we could give that a shot right? :icon_eek:

i'm assuming but i could be wrong, but you should have the maps.apk file in your phone, because i did nothing out of the ordinary when i installed froyo, just did a backup. the first installation, maps wasn't available. however i proceeded to re-install the backup and maps was already in the app launcher...so give it a try, unless there is someone out there who knows a more definite solution to this problem

for me b and b droid light isnt working (just like mototorch but i like the widget more) and for the maps issue when i loaded froyo the first time it didnt work then i redid it after i wipe data and cache a few times (through SPR) and maps ran fine and sped the phone up by about 10x

maps never had any issues running, and the version with this leaked froyo is fully updated. the update the market thinks it has is not an update... well not one you need since you already have it.

I think it's a google market not quite knowing what to make of a leaked 2.2 droid.

Terminal or Better Terminal: no cp command

Stock droid doesn't have cp, either. If you have busybox installed, just link the busybox binary to cp and you're good to go. Most ROMs include this, so I suspect it will come soon once roms are based on froyo.

as root, with /system mounted r/w:
Code:
ln /system/xbin/busybox /system/xbin/cp -s

I cant update any of my apps from the Market and I was going to use wireless teather because im going on a looong car ride!!! It says sorry there isnt enough space to install this file! I think im going back to BBV1.1 untill they get this worked out!

Gemini Calendar does not work at all (previously known and being fixed as we speak
Grocery IQ force close quite often.

Youmail: had reboots around every half hour until I uninstalled it. My work around is to login at m.youmail.com and bookmark it to the desktop.

Maildroid: Seemed to have lots of Fc's.

Anyone else seeing this???

when I tried to update Maps, it gave me a "not signed correctly" error and didn't install but app was still on phone and works fine.

Market is sooooooooooooooo slow.

Still trying to figure out how to install busybox even after reading the previous posts.

My market is fast sometimes and slower others. I still can't the busybox fie either, I can move it to the system/bin if someone just posted where Titanium Backup actually installs the file.

Though I'm not sure how well it worked, I used these instructions to install Busybox.

However, when I try to use Titanium Backup to restore apps, it gives me a "problem parsing the package" and if I install an app from the market and use Titanium Backup to restore the data, the app in question just Force Closes when I try to use it..

I'd really like to not have to set up k9mail again, and would like to restore my log of phone calls, all my txts, etc., so not being able to restore the stuff makes using Froyo kind of pointless for now, for me.

I don't know if this helps anyone, but I was having horrible lag problems when I did the initial install. I was going to give up and go back to BB 1.1, so I went into recovery and wiped data and cache, but when I reloaded my backup I accidentally loaded the backup I had just done. The good news is that on reboot all my lag issues were gone and the speeds were back where they should be.
