Can't connect to Server with 2.2

Just updated 2.2 and now I can't connect to a local server to send and receive from my 2 church emails. My other 2 email accounts work fine as did all 4 before I updated to 2.2. Two Verizon Techs in the "Authorized" store both were unsuccessful as they changed ports and settings for over an hour. They finally gave up told me to call Verizon and get Tier 2 on phone. Just got off with Tier 2 Rep and she said 2.2 will not support this particular server and recommended "Touch Down" from emarket. Local Verizon Store employee said to forward to gmail. What do you suggest? What happened from 2.1 to 2.2?

Ever since I updated to 2.2 my apps are starting up by themselves worse then before. When I turn on phone I have 240 + meg of memory within an hour it drops to about a 100 meg. And continues to drop. The battery doesn't seem to suffer too bad, but how or can I stop apps from auto starting? Or is this something I even need to worry about, should I not use a "Task Killer"? This is the ONLY negitive thing I've notice since the update (and even this isn't that big of a deal)....Love the DX and the update!

You don't need to worry about it. You do not need a task killer. Droid manages it's own memory just fine.

Hello all!

I updated my phone today and downloaded flash, thinking I had to, I was reading the forum and that's what people where saying to do, I'm not sure if I needed it or not, but went to the market and got it from there, so I went to youtube and watched a few videos about flash on 2.2 and they were showing how you can now see the graphics on different websites for example google, so I did the same thing they were doing and I'm not seeing those graphics, what did I do wrong? or why can't I see them? thank you!

Camera / Camcorder crash after update

Never had any issues before.

Now, attempting to launch camera or camcorder fails 100% of the time. Sometimes the home screen just flickers as if it tried to load something. Sometimes I briefly see the app come up, then back to home screen.

I've tried multiple reboots, batter pulls, uninstalled nearly every application, no luck. I did try out a barcode scanner to see if anything could access the camera hardware, and that worked fine.

Any ideas?

When I use the music player and I turn the phone horizontal, then back to vertical, my whole phone locks up. Sometimes it shuts off, sometimes I need to take the battery out. The music player worked fine before the 2.2 upgrade.

Is anyone having the same problem??

I am having the same problem. Also sometimes the music skips a little but. so far this 2.2 kinda sucks. Battery does not seem to be lasting as long either, but it does seem like the phone is louder now.

Some help????

I have followed the instuctions for downloading the update but have not luck!!! It says "check for update was not available at this time. Try again later"

DOES ANYONE HAVE A SOLUTION???

THANKS

Message Icon Flicker

Has anyone noticed that after pulling down the notification bar and clicking on a newly received text, the message icon goes away but then comes back on for about a second or two, then goes back off?? Kind of annoying. It draws my attention every time I get a text and click on it from the notification screen.

Also, are there any updates about the order of text messages?? The way they are listed doesn't make sense at all.

Quick update... I spoke with Motorola CS and they said the OTA updates come out in batches and not all at once!

So if your having the same issue as i am. What you have to do is WAIT for the batch to be sent out and you will receive a "update prompt" on your phone automatically.

Received OTA 2.2 and now WiFi Problems

Hi all,

Bought a Droid X a mere three weeks ago and it came with 2.1 loaded which I've been using 100% successfully since. Everything works and I've installed a few apps here and there but, so far, nothing wrong including 3G on the road and WiFi at home. Other than apps, it's stock and not rooted.

Today I finally received the 2.2 update which appears to have installed properly (I have not checked all apps and functions yet but the reason follows) except for one MAJOR issue.

When I got home, I turned on WiFi as normal, put the phone on the counter and ate dinner. After dinner I picked it up to continue my 2.2 testing and immediately found that the WiFi was connecting, authenticating, getting an IP address, disconnecting, scanning, connecting authenticating, ad-infinitum. Ugh.

Using WiFi Analyzer I can see my router's signal as strong as it was yesterday, all my other devices are connecting fine and there are no other signals interfering (microwave, etc.) The only device with the problem is the Droid X. So I deleted the network, re-entered my info (WPA2) and tried again only to have the problem continue.

If I open the WiFi settings and watch, I can just see the thing connect and disconnect continually. I ran some tests on the router and even disabled some settings as well as rebooted it but the Droid is hosed. I've tried deleting some apps in case they were interfering but no joy.

The phone was working fine for 3 weeks without a dropped connection AT ALL. Today after the update, POW!

Does anyone have any suggestions? Should I bite the bullet and reset to factory and start over? Without this functioning properly, there's no need to continue checking other apps in my opinion.

If someone has some thoughts, I'd appreciate the help.

Thanks,

Kevin

P.S. I'm a computer expert but this is my first smart phone so I'm technically capable of going deep into the problem if necessary.

Ive had the update about 40 hours now... Im not impressed so far....the phone is noticeably slower, especially the browser,is very slow, even on WIFI,my old droid with 2.2 is faster now....Ive rebooted a few times,it hasnt helped. Also today I noticed the phone rebooting on its own, something it hasnt done in a while now...battery life seems at least as good.Camera is a little better. I guess I was hoping for a little more speed, not less....

I just installed the update yesterday and this morning I was having wi-fi connection issues as well. I tried connecting to a wi-fi hotspot at Panera Bread and it was taking forever. I backed out and tried connecting again and it worked the second time.

Even when it was connected I was disappointed. It seemed slower than before and watching videos was a chore. Choppy as hell.

+1 on the music problem. I just experienced the problem a few minutes ago. I had to pull the battery out to reset the system. It completely hung my phone. I've removed all shortcuts to the player until this is resolved. Or should I download another player instead?

The battery on the other hand seems to be lasting noticeably longer for me. WTH???? Did we somehow jump the gun on the update and maybe should have waited for Verizon to have pushed the update rather than us pulling it?

Green LED Notification Light

My wife and I both have a DROID X with Froyo, but my notification light is solid and hers blinks. Which one is working correctly and how do I fix the broken one?

Nobody has an idea? Is this a Droid X isssue or an Android 2.2 issue?

It probably has to do with the issue concerning how 2.2 "protects" exchange email.

I would check with whomever does the IT for the church and see if there is a password or code that needs to be generated. Or as the rep said give touchdown a try. You can try it you know for 24 hours to see if it works before you buy it.
